Pleasantly surprised to of been very wrong here!
We are a LONG way from him being on campus but still great news. Maybe it can carry some momentum in sooner years too.

I won’t believe this happens until I see him on campus. If they implement coming out of high school to NBA he’ll never go to college

Very real chance. But as of now he chose Syracuse so for all the shit we give the staff for recruiting issues, we should tip our caps to them here. Even if it is years out.

Wow. Sweet, but, I’m not going to take this seriously, frankly. And all the shit the staff gets IS warranted. I mean, cool, but methinks Dior is just doing the old man and the staff a solid by boosting our recruiting profile/image. Just don’t see him ever suiting up nor this being any sort of binding verbal. Hope this helps us in the meantime!

Hope I’m wrong.

WOW!!!!! Please don’t decommit!
In all seriousness, this kid has already said (saw it earlier in this thread) that he WILL jump straight to the NBA if the rule changes. This is reeking of Bazely 2.0.
BUT, if he can get some others to join him at Syracuse, hopefully they wouldn’t all do the same thing? This could potentially help us, right?
My biggest concern is we put all our eggs at PG into this commitment and lose him at the end, and then we get left with scraps. Remember what happened with Quade?

I want to be happy. But this kid is what like 16? I hope it’s a sign of better things to come, but color me skeptical. This kid is a legitimate NBA talent. It could help us if he brings more elite players with him, but it could bite us in the ass too like you point out Rusty. I wish I was more confident here. Hats off to the staff, if we actually land this guy.

Still think he plays as many games at SU as Bazley did.
This quote from article sums it up -
"If the one-and-done rule goes away, I’ll weigh my options then,'' he said. "But in terms of college, this is it.''

Hats off to the staff, if we actually land this guy. I should have stated this in my first response to this commitment: The staff definitely gets credit for the solid relationship they built. This commitment doesn’t happen without the relationship. I also sincerely hope it can lead to bigger things. I would be thrilled to see JB go out on top. But, we’ve been through so much as a program with the sanctions, losing Quade, Isaiah, Bazely, and our big men have been awful. We’re so overdue for a BIG fish stud recruit. That’s why this is so hard to pin hopes on. I hope it leads to some other good commitments with him, so that even if he backs out (please not until after the others have signed LOI) we’ll be in good shape.
