I remember when this kid left I thought it was all because JB's tough love approach was starting to fail with this new generation of teens and it would be the beginning of the end.
Then I see that he is bolting from Jerry Stackhouse and his new approach to teens.
Now I know that the problem is not either program but the kid.

I was criticized for on TOS saying he was not a P5 talent. He's not. He's barely a mid-major talent

Yeah he was an awkward player without skill. Funny, I was working on a project next door to Vandy towards the end of their semester before summer. His first year there. He was walking around and I said “Go Cuse!” He smiles and gave a thumbs up. I told him good luck and that he should take violin lessons as well with my brother who teaches violin at Blair School of Music at Vandy. We exchanged some info. My brother was never contacted and hoops didn’t go well for him. He’ll have a great degree though whatever it is.

I never saw the talent in Moyer that had him listed as a top 100 high school player (I think). To me he was a guy with two left feet that could really jump. Nice kid, and had a decent court IQ, but I thought from day one he looked like a very awkward basketball player.

You forgot to add that GMac screwed up with. He's brutal for a lead recruiter. Thanks again JB.

The excitement was there, and then you watched tape, and it really was one of the few times I stopped dead and just wondered if I was missing something. So you watch a little more, and a little more, and there just wasn't much there. Then you just try to figure out where the hype stemmed from - and how people maintained it after watching his highlight clips. He was like a god-awful version of Roberson. Like, a really, really, really, really god-awful version. How he ascended up the rankings is interesting. No clue how he cracked any Top 100.

Another GMac recruiting blunder. I feel like Moyer was a Freshman at SU just about when Gerry graduated. lol It's strange he's even still kicking around I wish he ended up back in the ACC - seems like he could belong at Va Tech or Pitt.

I’m not sure he is P5 caliber. Maybe as just a screener/roller/garbage guy for VTech/Pitt like you say. But, I like the “god-awful version of Roberson” comparison. Pretty spot on. Not sure how he bamboozled the recruitniks and coaches as a Top 100 recruit.

The "god awful version or Roberson" is actually extremely accurate and pretty hilarious. Roberson was one of the weirder 4 year players. Im not sure I could accurately describe his tenure.
Moyer seems like a good kid. But he just flat out stinks. Def a miss on SU's part but not like we were the only one who offered. His list of P5 offers is absurd for what he ended being as a player.

Moyer to me always looked like he had two left feet. He had spring/hop but seemed to lack coordination.

We should name the Syracuse All-Spaz Squad. I would throw in Sidibe and TRob as a couple of guys that seemed unnecessarily spazzy in their movement. Definitely not graceful/ballerina types. lol
