He started Gillion (eventually) and Andrew White.
I think there is one position among the starting 5 that he would not put on the bench, and it is the 2 guard...

Very slim odds against those schools. The biggest chip we can offer is that he’d start for us. The same cannot be said any of those other schools. Really depends on what the guy is looking for. What’s the consensus here on the board? Would JB actually pull Sidibe from the starting lineup for him or a Tape? Most coaches have an ‘all positions are open’ type of mindset but JB usually starts the veterans and of course the Zone. I don’t think JB would guarantee a starting job, but this guy is clearly better than Sidibe. If he’s done his homework, he knows the high potential to start exists at Syracuse.

Agreed, is not going to start at Gonzaga or Kansas or Kentucky. And next year Kansas might be fucked by the NCAA.

This doesn't seem possible but would be great if it happened of course. I would love to understand the pitch we even give talented 5's. Do you enjoy altering shots, rebounding and throwing outlet passes. I mean who wants to sign up for that. Outside of the senior year for Christmas when was the last time we even had center that we featured in our offense. I'm trying to remember. I would love to hear what their pitch was to Stewart. Did they actually commit to running the offense through him and spacing the floor.

Maybe they don’t bother with these projects and just tell them that they are going to screen, crash the boards, etc. It’s been tough though. Even with Baye on offense. The screening just sucks with these skinny bigs too. They barely make contact with anybody and/or hold their ground. The guards have been terrible as well using them and setting up opponents with proper angles. I’m convinced the staff doesn’t work on this enough or simply don’t care about it. It’s been a debacle for years. But, back to Stewart. Can’t imagine they wouldn’t tell him what he would want to hear. I think Haarms is a kid you can feed down low and run the offense through. We’ll see. Probably a longshot to get him, regardless. Watching us on tape, coming from a fundamentally sound system and program, he’s probably like “What the hell are they doing out there?” Just clear outs and launch lol.

I would like to believe the pitch involves us having 3 elite shooters and spacing the floor and we can run high low all day with you and marek. You will never see a double team for an extending period of time

Especially in the pnr. Kid is good at rolling to the hoop and catching the ball and slamming it. Him at the 5 with marek/Quincy at the 4 and then u have buddy/jg3/kadary/griffin as your floor spacers. It could definitely work. Jb just has to use his bench some and sub his players during different game situations and who has the hot hand. No reason to ride our guys to death.

I think the point about Christmas is the most logical one. We have not played through a big in the low post since then because we have not had one with the capability to do so.
Yes Rick and AO and those guys got their fair share of dunks and put backs, but they also got the chance to play with their back to the basket. I think it is a personnel thing way more than a defined scheme. Rak barely got those chances his freshman-junior year because he just did not have the ability yet, by SR year he did and we played through him.

Bummer but no shocker you’re right. THIS is the guy who would’ve made SU a Top 25 team. Legit. Ballard at least isn’t skinny but he’s a bit of a project, IMO.

Agreed about Ballard and some people aren't seeing that. Listening to Dean's pod now and he's feeling same way too. I don't want no PC Part 2.
