A lot of players have shut it down for the weekend. Not Scottie Barnes. In fact, he looked to me to have the most energy he'd had all weekend which is saying a lot because Barnes can always be counted on to bring it.
He played in the post, he handled the ball in transition, he made plays for others and he generally asserted his dominance.

Already regarded as one of the top prospects in the 2020 class, Barnes showed up to camp having added weight to his frame during the offseason. Barnes looked visibly stronger and he used that strength in the paint. Barnes was his normal active and physical self and he impacted the game with his rebounding, passing, defense and overall energy. He made a number of shots from short to mid-range and finished plays at the rim. He still needs to develop a long-range shot, but Barnes is the ultimate do-it-all forward that can fill different roles.
Recruiting: Barnes’ recruitment includes Florida, Kansas, Kentucky, LSU and Miami.

Still don't think we will be a major player in this one as haven't seen SU mentioned in quite sometime, although this just mentioned we had offered him.

I'm pretty sure we are OUT on this one or have been for a while as haven't seen SU mentioned in a LONG time.

Broncos/Hawks/Giants @gatorsonlyway Does Florida have a good chance of getting Scottie Barnes in 2020?

3 NATIONAL - STATE 1 POSITION SCOTTIE BARNES RANK N/A 6'8" | 200 LBS | SF UNIVERSITY SCHOOL FORT LAUDERDALE, FL CLASS OF 2020 UNDECIDED They do. While I cannot say that Florida is the team to beat for five-star Scottie Barnes, I do believe that it is among the few that sit at the top of his list. He has already taken official visits to Florida State and Oregon this fall, and the Ducks may be the dark horse in his recruitment. Oregon was his favorite school growing up, and while prospects often outgrow the dream school scenario, I do believe Oregon will be in it until the very end.
However, Barnes has really not given much thought regarding his recruitment. He is more of a throwback type of kid that just wants to ball. Expect things to pick up steam once his junior season completes, as Kentucky has already offered, and more blueblood programs are likely to show interest. Regardless, Florida has done magnificent work with top in-state prospects, and Barnes could be the next in line.
