Kid is 7’1 250. Pascal is currently listed at 7’2 227. Can’t remember if PC had 2 or 3 eligible years at SU, but if we can find someone to give us equal defensive production we will be on the right track Then play 4 against 5 on offense, no thank you. Please watch this entire highlight tape and tell me if u still think this. Kid has more perimeter game/post up skills and tighter handle then all.of our current centers combined and you can see that just off this tape alone. He makes numerous outside shots and from foul line area...has a nice floater he uses often and other stuff like actually dribbling to the hoop and making a dunk/layup. Also known as a defense guy who earned multiple MEAC awards and some thought he got robbed of DPOY. Take a real look and let me know if u still feel that way? Kid has good size as well. www.instagram.com/tv/B-ab2IPH3AX/?igshid=1fl9clfy0pl9

Pascal would have been fine on offense if it weren’t for that eye injury. Funny thing about post offense is that being blinded in one eye makes it pretty tough

This Bacon guy appears to offer more than Chewy, IMO. Not saying he’s a stud, but we need bodies.

Funny thing about post offense is that being blinded in one eye makes it pretty tough Walsh you seem to have this bizarre love affair with our bigs. Pascal’s eye injury lasted his whole career at SU? No. Let’s say it did affect his ability to catch and such. He barely learned a post move his whole career. He would’ve helped this team a little on the defensive end for sure. To make us a Tournament team? Doubt it. Would he still be a black hole on offense? Probably. Pascal’s career will always be highlighted for me by this one singular play. It was a Dome game maybe against North Florida or Cornell. 2017 I think. He gets a pass from somebody and is all alone to throw it down for dunk. Instead he throws it back out and fires a rocket into the corner except nobody was there. Out of bounds. Turnover.

Moves well, good size, and seems to be confident and in attack mode. He’s a real gem I think! Makes decisive moves which I like.

Idk guys maybe I'm seeing more our of bacon then the rest of u. I see a guy make perimeter shots with ease. I have seen him dribble and drive from near the 3 point line and dunk it or lay it up. I've watched post moves and hooks/floaters in the lane all with relative ease. He looks far more polished offensively then anything we have now. Sidibe is ONE dimensional. I'm not saying this guy is some superstar but I dont think hes a bad take if we could land him. Good size and looks aggressive. Also worth noting he was considered elite defensively in his conference and many said he should of got DPOY. Also has more playing experience then our young guys currently so i would assume he would provide more then them. Redshirt Edward's and get him stronger and more polished (he has potential) and let's see what JBA can do. Just my opinion. I kinda like this guys skillset compared to one dimensional sidibe. He was good towards the end of the year but still.....we could be better!

He makes a couple of plays on that Insta clip that none of our guys would attempt nor be able to execute.

I’m in if he wants to come. He appears to offer more than what we currently have. Beggars can’t be choosers right now. We need some beef, and interior defense and this guy can do that.

We need to recruit stockier and better bigs for sure, I just view our guys differently than you guys do i think. The defining moment of PC’s time at SU for me was the Duke game where he dominated the paint and we won in Cameron. Guess i’m a half full guy

Good call though on that Duke game. A bright moment for sure.

After re-reading that initial comment about the eye i think i came off snarkier and more condescending than i originally intended. I think we’re both right about the eye: if he doesnt get that injury he would certainly have been better offensively, but to your point, it’s not like he would suddenly start hitting sky hooks or anything. He would have definitely been more of a threat on lobs. The thing that bothers me the most about our bigs on offense is how often they will catch the ball in the post high and then bring it down low instead of just keeping it high and going up with it. Drives me absolutely insane. It’s like they’re trying to turn the ball over.

No question Pascal did improve but he and Frank REALLY held the offense back for most of their time at SU. Just a major cluster-f&$k. But, yeah, they do bring the ball down often like you say and they seem so indecisive as what to do with it too. I don’t know. Coaching? They will sometimes walk with the ball too if they get slightly bumped or dislodged because their lower bodies (Marek too) are just too thin. Bumps that shouldn’t dislodge most bigs. Frustrating for sure. I wonder what really prompted JB to make those statements to various media about not doing a good job recruiting big guys. Wildhack have a talk with him? Because he has that presser out there before the Baylor tourney game where he states that they can get by thinner and less physical guys. He’s adamant and defiant about it too when the female reporter prods him about Zone recruiting lol.

I took that quote about recruiting the wrong big guys as the classic Boeheim move where he negs guys to the media with the intent of motivating them. He did it with Roberson too i remember. To his credit, it ended up working this time and we saw a completely different BS down the stretch. He’s oddly much less critical of guards. I think that if Bourama can play a full season at the level he played in that stretch run he could get an all-ACC slot. It’s very optimistic but not crazy to think he can give us 12 ppg 8 rpg and 2 bpg on +50% FG. That would put him in the convo for 3rd team all conference

We all of a sudden had that Griff article come out too that they were changing their recruiting philosophies about getting stronger and more physical guys in now. Boeheim plenty of times had his snarky little comments like “we can’t stop anybody” or “one guy weighs 200 and the other guy weighs 180...” as potential motivational ploys a la Roberson. This was far more. I think Wildhack had a serious conversation and said basically no more string beans. Period. Like I mentioned, his Baylor press conference implies the opposite and we know JB is stubborn and rarely takes the heat for anything wrong. We’ll probably never know the truth though.

I am very bullish on Jesse's offensive game. He is smooth down low and can knock down a jumper. More importantly when he gets the ball with his back to the basket he does not freak out like some of the other big we have had/have.
He of course needs to add some size. But unlike Sidbe or JBA or even someone like Baye Keita, he appears to have the frame that would allow it.
Now on defense he was absolutely lost and slow. That needs to improve.
