I’m fine with Rick but more of a stop-gap. He’d turn it around quick.
Much like what RF has been saying on the other board….continuing the status quo with the current assistants is just asinine. They have a hand in the decline and are unqualified versions of their mentor. I just won’t believe Wildhack will do this. We aren’t Duke already performing and recruiting at an elite level consistently. A continuity hire makes ZERO sense for us.
Based on Wildhack’s recent investment into the football program, I would think he’ll spare no expense for bball. He’ll try to get the top possible guy and money won’t be a big deal.

I hope you're right. I would be devastated if they simply hired one of these current assistants. Here's what I'm fearful of though...
What if JB has been communicating to recruits that Red or Autry will be taking over if something should happen to him or if he's told them about his retirement plans or whatever? In that case Wildhack would have to have agreed to that. My other thought is even if that's not true, would Wildhack bring in a new coach knowing he will ditch Syracuse legend GMac and loyal Cuse assistants and staff like Autry?

He’s paid to make tough decisions and probably had to make difficult ones at ESPN. The fact that they have not announced one of the assistants to be the successor by now makes me think he is looking elsewhere. The right call.
