I know Bosa is a proud boy but I can’t understand what the KC OL has to do to get called for holding. Like 5-6 times KC tackles have held Bosa and their hasn’t been one call. they have to have Mahomes not play. They never call holding

So why would Shanahan go for 4th and 3 down 3 but 4th and 4 tied at the 9’kicks the FG? I think he should have gone for that as I doubt the refs and his D will stop Mahomes in OT.

Idiot ran 10 yards backwards and turned a 5 yard gain into a 5 yard loss.

Shanahan should get roasted for not having his player aware to defer the coin toss in OT. That decision was such a Colossal mistake. No chance Chiefs weren’t scoring a TD in OT.

After thinking this out in the future. If you get an OT playoff game the team that gets the ball first if they score a TD on the first drive they should go for 2 100% of the time. If they make it and go up 8 they are guaranteed another possession but if they kick the XP they are inviting the other team to go for 2 if they score and win.
SF messed it up royally. They went for 4th and 3 down 3 in the third quarter but in OT kicked a FG at the 9 on 4th and 4.
The new rule incentivizes going for 2 in OT if you score first because if you make it you are guaranteed another possession if you miss then your D knows it has to stop the opponent from getting a TD or you know it’s over.

If the first team scores a TD and kicks the XP they are up 7. If the second team scores a TD and kicks the XP it becomes sudden death and the first only needs a FG to win. By going for 2 if you are the second team you are controlling your own destiny. I would go for 2 in that situation. You control if you win or lose. If you kick the XP your defense has to stop the other team. My point was the first team that gets the ball should go for 2 if they score. That way they are up 8 and are guaranteed to get the ball in a sudden death situation or if they miss then their D can’t let the opposing team score a TD or the XP beats them. The logic of SF was leaving themselves open for KC to go for 2 and negate their logic of thinking they would get another possession.

Ok I guess what you’re saying makes sense ie if the first team is up seven…if you score and go for two, if you get you win the game if you don’t you lose. OTOH if you kick the xp and tie it up the game essentially becomes ot under the old rules and you have to put it all on your defense at that point. So yeah maybe I do roll the dice?

It really does. And most don’t seem to really even care about stuff like this anymore. It’s like it’s treated with the same level of detached empathy as hearing that somebody you don’t really know has cancer. It’s just “oh, that’s terrible, I’m sorry to hear that. Huh.” And then it’s never thought of or mentioned again.
