I hope Isaiah doesn’t buy the Kentucky koolaid... a five star guy doesn’t need a blue blood to make the NBA. It saddens me the number of these elite kids that buy into the complete and total nonsense that they need Kentucky or Duke to make the NBA. Five star guys usually make the NBA regardless of where they play their college ball. Let’s hope Isaiah realizes he can go anywhere he wants to in college and still have a great pro career. Calipari doesn’t develop NBA talent, he warehouses them until they are of age, and like the snake oil salesmen he is, he convinces kids that they need him. It’s SUCH bullshit.
Isaiah you will be the man at Syracuse!!!

I gotta a feeling right now we are in 3rd place in this race and wouldn't hold my breath on us landing him.

Could Isaiah be using Syracuse to gain leverage with Kentucky (or Bama)? Maybe he’s trying to milk a bigger bag? I’m inclined to think Deano is right on this one (he’s not coming here). In fact, I think it’s very possible we’re being played.

Of all the stuff I have read about recruits for the 35 + years I have been a fan I have never read anything like what Mr. Jackson said about his sons visit. I believe his words are legit and when he talked about the family atmosphere is is telling the truth.

I don’t know... what does it look like when a recruit/parent uses a school? Is there a blueprint? If I wanted to attend Kentucky and collect a bag, I’d feign interest in a program. I’d have my father scare Kentucky by talking up a visit at one of the contending schools (Syracuse).

I don’t even have a reason to explain why I think we’re being played. Maybe I shouldn’t have suggested it. It’s just a gut instinct... an intuition of mine. Nothing more, nothing less. Recruiting has become a business, and most recruits are going to go where they can score the most money, almost like choosing between jobs.

If my name was Isiah Jackson I would go to Alabama and play for Oats at this point. I would flip UK the finger and say you aren't going to play me and not be another Nick Richards. Did that fool get played or what and what kills me he's still there!

Could be. Bag or no bag I don’t think Calipari is worried about Boeheim and Syracuse. Neither is Oats. Oats’ UB team made us look like a JV squad last season and, IMO, they outplayed us the season before in a L. Simply from a style of play and system standpoint we have a lot going against us.

First post here...
I really think Isaiah is perfect for us. His father may be playing us, I sure don’t know, but I think Isaiah truly would be awesome in our zone. Why is the zone cool if Duke plays it, but outdated and bad for preparing a player for the NBA if we use it?

Oats is the guy I wanted to succeed JB. He’s a good up and coming coach. I can see the attraction of Alabama.

I agree with you, it sucks that the zone is being used to negatively recruit against us. It’s unfair, but it’s being done. The zone is a great defense. I will say this, I think we should mix it up more. I actually think it would make it even more lethal. It was also help if we mixed in man to man. Anyhow, I wouldn’t hold your breath with Isaiah.
