It’s too bad… But wow, what an absolute bust this guy turned out to be. I can’t think of anybody with the expectations that he did who just so utterly failed to meet them right now.. hopefully this turns out to be a textbook. Example of addition by subtraction. I can’t imagine what the lock room was like with the senior guy displaying such a shitty attitude consistently.
Before I forgot, massive MASSIVE shout out to all the people comparing Benny to Derek, Coleman and Carmelo Anthony before he played a single game. Really hit the nail fellas.
In short good riddance

He was a habitual line stepper. Glad I don’t have to watch his embarrassing tantrums anymore.

Nope! Richmond has been more than fine at Seton Hall w/ 2 diff head coaches. I respect your opinion, but youre wrong on this one. He’s where he wants to be. That’s my only point. JB didn’t run him off. He was ready to leave almost immediately. That’s not JB’s fault.

Check out the “Who”s your Benny Williams player comparison”. I sarcastically compared him to Melo, Coleman, etc. and then predicted he’d average 10 and 5. I was really down on the program at that point. Even that was overestimating him.

I think I'll take like 4 Ws and 1 L on it.

Right or wrong, it’s fun to think that Boeheim kicked Richmond out so that he could spend a year treating his sons and their super best friends to ice cream sandwiches and post game sleepovers. I bet the boys had a blast!

I bet the boys had a blast! I don’t think he kicked Kadary out. I just think he wanted to play Joe and Buddy the majority of the minutes and then whatever was leftover would go to the 3rd guard. Kadary was better for Syracuse his freshman than Joe. Joe supplanted Jalen Carey. He was better than Carey but when Richmond was better than Girard the same standard wasn’t applied. Jim Boeheim wanted to coach his sons. Winning was the bonus. They stacked a team that major flaws people called them out but Joyce knows the Boeheim family and used Rick to censor what she wanted to read because fans are disloyal idiots when they don’t bend the knee before their king. Jim Boeheim could have showed Kadary he was the future and started him when it was clear he was better than Joe. He didn’t do that when he did it to Jalen Carey and would do it before. Kadary may not have had a good experience but Boeheim calling him out shape when Girard was in worse shape was RIDICULOUS. I remember the season before Benny’s freshman year I was saying I needed to see it to believe it with the kid as our fanbase was being gaslit into extreme CO2 levels. Benny was bust himself but he came into a toxic program and never matured that is on him. I am proud of Red’s postgame after Wake he basically told the toxic people shape or leave. If Judah wants to quit now go ahead. If anyone wants out go. The program needs a cleansing and hopefully Freeman leads us next year he actually does look good. I saw one of his games and he can help. Freeman reminds me of Jeff Green. Not a big time scorer but a 2 way guy who can pass as well.

We can’t disagree when it comes to the facts, though. The "fact" we are disagreeing about is that JB picked Joe over Kadary? ..and your source is an obscure Ryan Blackwell podcast? I'll trust the guys I heard from. Kadary wanted to start and felt he was better than Joe. Additionally, the team knew DaddyBall was coming in. THIS is a fact. Everyone knew Jimmy was coming in during COVID after the extra year decision came down. I'm ok if you feel otherwise, too. As long as we all agree that Kadary is/was better than Joe at PG.

I believe he literally said as much in the press syracusefan.com/threads/boeheim-takes-shot-at-richmond.164250/“I just think Joe [Girard] was more consistent, obviously a better shooter, just a more consistent player. And people talk about Kadary’s steals, but Joe was second on the team and top 10 in the league in steals, so the defensive difference wasn’t that big. But I think Joe was just more solid, and obviously a much better outside shooter.” BWHAHAHAHAHA!

I like that the only thing about my post that y’all are pushing back on is that he “kicked out“ Richmond.
We all know the rest of it is 100% legit! Lol

These are those comments the fanbase was gaslit by Boeheim but nobody except Brent Axe(who is a douche) would pushback against him. Donna and Mike are old school beat writers who needed access. Nobody else would call Jim Boeheim out. He had the PTI guys in his back pocket and nobody else nationally honestly cares. Boeheim neutered the media and our message board was literally running PR controlling messages. Boeheim mismanaged this entire thing and when he spoke he never could justify his crazy decisions but spun like a WH Press Secretary for the message he wanted out there. Kadary didn’t get the same standard that Girard got and that is a fact. The fact Joe never got recruited over was the problem and Boeheim wouldn’t do it. Joe and Buddy got 3 years of owning the backcourt and it wasn’t worth it for anyone but Jim and Juli.
