I’m optimistic about this kid. Seems really athletic. Needs to get a lot stronger. He’s scrawny in the upper body especially. Staff better pray he can handle to transition to PG potentially. Carey is stil a major unknown and that’s scary.

I am equally high on Goodine. I have no idea if he can transition to point guard, but I sure hope he can. If he can and JBA can contribute at a higher level than most freshman point guards and centers can, we'll be ok next year. I hate to put that much pressure on incoming freshmen, but they can make all the difference next year.

Brycen looks really skinny in this pic... I'm excited by the talent he brings us next year, but seriously we might have the team that collectively weighs the least amount next season. Wow are we going to be thin. http://instagram.com/p/Bv443NfBIbA

Wouldn't it be nice if they get to experience another Final Four... Damn I want to be good again so badly. I may sound pessimistic a lot of the time, but it's a result of how much I care. I miss being feared. I miss getting up and down the court. I miss the alley-oop play with a BIG that can actually catch the ball. I miss having a bad ass (like a Devo) that talks trash. I miss being the best team in NY state. I miss being able to talk trash with my friends in North Carolina. I want to be GOOD again. I so hope this 2019 class can produce and we strike gold in the 2020 class too. Not holding out much hope, but a guy can dream...

Lord I hope this kid is ready to ball especially if Carey can’t cut it which is entirely possible. But boy he is scrawny especially up top.

This isnt football and we need SKILLED and athletic guards like goodine. Kid is the real deal. Sure he can use some more siE to his advantage and get stronger (I'm sure he will) but he will be fine. Plenty of good guards in college that arent built like bricks. Now our "bigs" banging around down low is a different story....that's a sad situation. We should recruit football players to bring in for our center position!

Don't you mean we should get a good S and C for our big men, lol

I wouldn't be concerned about Goodine's size either except it does become more noticeable when we are outmuscled at literally every position on the floor.

I like his potential and promise but he’s not Ja Morant either in terms of explosion and athleticism. There’s a reason why he isn’t a Top 50 player. He’s not going to overpower guards the way Dion Waiters did. Coby White also was able to drive on and post up guards. He could even absorb contact and finish over bigs. I don’t think BG is on those kinds of levels. His jumper could be an asset early on but he’s a four year player, IMO, and much of that has to do with strength.

There is only so many of those type of players in ALL of college basketball. Hes definitely not like any of those 3 and probably never will be seeing as though they are not the normal college basketball talent. The only things u were right about regarding white is his ability to absorb contact and finish at the rim even around bigs. He didnt overpower anyone all year long and his ENTIRE game all season was blowing by dudes going to the hoop driving and shooting 3s. He wasnt posting other guards up so I'm not sure where u got that or if u were watching the same guy? Dion u are spot on about tho. He was a beast and overpowered just about any guard he played. U said theres reasons for BG not being top 50 yet hes ranked 75 on ESPN. Not much of a difference between a kid they rank 50 and a kid they rank 75 so that's pointless. Bouknight is in the 60s and I like BG much more then him. Not sure what BGs ceiling is but I do know hes going to be a very good player for us. He could definitely use some added muscle and strength because obviously that will only benefit him but like I said earlier, I'm not worried in the least bit about him or his ability to play at a high level for us. Kid is good. The guards hes going to go up against arent no linebackers compared to him. Again, our bigs is a different story. That's where we need to muscle and size which we dont. But hey man I appreciate your opinion on it and it's all good because we dont have to agree on anything. These forums are all fun and games!
