Syracuse hasn't had a 1000 yard rusher since 2012, when Jerome Smith went for 1,171. The last two seasons, the Orange have failed to have a runner get to 600 yards.
Now, in year three under Dino Babers, the Orange should have their best offense in this new coaching era. Babers produced multiple 1000 yard rushers in his previous coaching stops, and the Orange should have their best offensive line in years... at least on paper.
So... will the Orange have a 1000 yard rusher this year?

I’m voting to hopefully speak (type) it into existence... Moe goes for over 1k.
He averaged close to 100 yards a game when given a starting role late last season. He’s got more wiggle and explosion than Dontae. They’re both upperclassmen now so I’m hoping Dino gives him the a nod despite less “seniority”.
On a side note when I was at the Spring game someone in the autograph line ahead of me asked Dungey if the offense would be smash mouth and he replied “not me, but Donte will be”. My son asked Strickland if he was a running back and Donte replied “ I’m THE running back”. So, clearly, he thinks he’s the bonified starter.
I’m hoping that’s not the case... Moe needs more touches and showed he can do it. I think he’s less likely to be used in the slot since he’s bulked up and we have a lot of slot options now (Sharod, Nykeim, Lutz, etc.)
Fingers crossed he gets the bulk of the carries (and Pierre gets more too).

I like the offensive line a lot. I think they do it with Strickland.
