Hopefully it's us in the end and that's my prediction at this point -
Give me Syracuse or UConn for Akok Akok. The four-star forward put together one of the better summers that a rising senior could ever dream of, but even before that his recruitment had risen, as some of the best programs in the Northeast had placed a heavy priority on him.
The Orange and Huskies are not the only programs in the mix for the unique prospect, as Maryland, Georgetown and Providence are three others that may have a say with where Akok ends up. However, Syracuse and UConn gained some traction in the spring, and that momentum didn’t stall a bit in July. Look for visits to be set in the coming weeks with things coming down to the Orange and the Huskies. I might give the slight edge to the Huskies.

After an up-and-down spring, Akok Akok was dominant during July. He is one of the premier shot blockers in the country, and then he can also step out and hit threes on the offensive end. A very good athlete with improving skill, Akok more than proved his spot as a five-star prospect.
Recruiting: Syracuse, Providence, Connecticut, Georgetown, Maryland

Someone asked Corey on twitter about Providence's chances with AKok and here is link and reply -
Providence would love to add another member from the Rivals150 alongside four-star forward Greg Gantt, and Akok Akok could be a guy who would answer a lot of its questions in the 2019 class. However, there is a lot more time to go in his recruitment, as UConn, Pitt, Maryland, Georgetown and Syracuse are just a few that have invested a good amount of time in recruiting him. While it's difficult to forecast, I think Providence will miss on Akok.

Visiting SU on 20 Oct. Plans on making decision in Spring. dont like the idea of a spring decision. Allows the blue bloods to linger if they miss out on their top targets.

One of the top forward prospects in the 2019 class, Akok Akok made some news last week as he decided to schedule his five official visits.
This past weekend, Akok saw the local Providence program and had the chance to catch up with his former travel program alums in Makai Ashton-Langford, David Duke and AJ Reaves.
Next week, he is off to Georgetown for their midnight madness festivities, joining fellow top-50 prospect Terrence Shannon on the Hilltop. On the weekend of Oct. 13, UConn will host Akok which he then follows up with a trip to Syracuse the following weekend before closing at Pitt on Oct. 25.
Much of the talk coming out of July had centered around Syracuse, UConn and Providence and that continues to be the case. Providence has had tremendous success in recruiting his Mass Rivals’ program, but one should believe that Dan Hurley is going to do all that he can to hit it out of the park with his first full recruiting class in Storrs. Syracuse should not be discounted either, and it is intriguing to see that Pitt and Georgetown have each notched visit dates, both being dark horses within his recruitment.
There is no clear-cut favorite at the moment and while I do view the Orange, Huskies and Friars as the three to beat, his visits should determine a whole lot about where he eventually ends up; I expect a fall signing.

A fall signing now? That’s very encouraging. As mentioned, it’s going to come down to visits but we’ve got to like our chances if he does indeed sign early.

I agree if he signs in fall helps us, don't like it if it drags out till Spring.

Akok Akok, the 6-foot-10 power forward Putnam Science (CT) Academy, will take his second official visit to Georgetown this weekend (Oct. 6). Akok, who cut his list to five last month, took his first official visit to Providence (Sept. 28) and has visits planned to UConn (Oct. 13), Syracuse (Oct. 20) and Pittsburgh (Oct. 23).
