Transfer portal. Not surprising. Would much rather have Goodine than Carey. Carey will probably leave as well though.
Wish Goodine would have stayed as he has some upside. With Hughes leaving, Buddy will have to see at least some time at 3 which would have opened it up for Goodine a bit.

Wow. That’s tough. He has more potential than Carey. Carey has done NOTHING to warrant staying here. Hope he leaves too. JB/Buddy is the source of the problem. If Carey leaves too then we are really slim in the backcourt. Not good.
JB has become a disaster with roster management. We’re not even running great players out there and Goodine can barely play. Same with BJ Johnson. I always thought he was a little overrated athletically. The homers on Syrfan were calling him and Carey the second coming of Waiters and Russell Westbrook FFS. Still, he will do well at like a Providence/URI/Temple

We need two scholarships freed up if we want both Towns and Tape no? I believe we can get one of them with Brycen gone, but need another. I haven't checked the scholarship count but last I saw someone post on it that's what we need.

I haven't checked the scholarship count but last I saw someone post on it that's what we need. Shouldn’t be an issue. I expect Hughes, Carey, and possibly Braswell to leave. Braswell has shown nothing frankly and has been recruited over. Woody Newton is also better than him right now, IMO. Quincy, Marek, and possibly Towns would all be ahead of Braswell for minutes. Does HW have his degree? Think he might stay actually if not. He’s not good enough to play anywhere else but he can direct an offense sort of and I think JB likes him in that role for a few minutes a game. Plus, he’s a good teammate. But, if we don’t get Tape/Towns or others like them then we are screwed and this is on JB. I do think two or three more guys leave. We won’t have many bodies to play if they can’t be replaced adequately and we already don’t have a very talented roster!!

The loss of Goodine is not surprising. JB played Buddy way too many minutes, and never really gave Goodine much of a chance to show what he can do. He’s locked behind the coaches son. I don’t blame him one bit for transferring.
More will leave too... Carey and Braswell are my best predictions.

Braswell I think is gone, he seemed like a panic offer last year, sort of like Jesse this year. I agree, HW is a great kid and loves the program and seems like a guy who would get into coaching. Carey is the odd one, you watch his actions on the bench and he was a great teammate. I think he gives it one more shot. Goodine does not surprise me, he is turning 21 this year, and to be honest was physically not ready. What is he 6'3 160 maybe (even though it says 185 in his bio)? I thought he made MD look buff. I get it that Jackson got played maybe too much at times but that just showed there was no one else on the bench. If BG could have handled the ball at all he would have spelled Joe, I take it that he can not.

I totally see the argument in BG leaving because he was locked behind the coaches son. It is not an ideal situation.
There was also a BIG reason for him being locked behind Buddy. He just was not nearly good enough. Bummer it did not work out, and I think more just highlights our recruiting problems more than anything. This was our highest rated kid coming in.

I’m really concerned about how we identify guards especially since this is an all-guard staff. Carey was picked to be the PG of the future. Frank was not good. Hopkins handpicked Kaleb Joseph. Goodine is gone. It’s a recurring theme. Who knows how Quade would’ve performed here but that showed me that they had to fix the PG situation and get a true PG. I think they were really worried about Frank (for good reasons!) and were trying to recruit over him. No way in hell did they not promise Quade, a McD AA, the keys to the bus. Well, we know what happened and were stuck with Frank and that godawful pace and handle of his. At least we had Gillon for a little bit. Boeheim fucked that up too by waiting too long to pull Frank and give the gig to Gillon. Issues over and over.

I'm not going to give up on Braswell yet. Hopefully it was his shins holding him back and they get cleared up. He's long, can shoot and showed a bit on D a few times his freshman year. I'm holding out hope for a Dirty type career arc. Dirty did nothing until his junior year which was his 4th year out of HS I think

Not a jumping jack like James. He’s a long strider with a much weaker frame than James. Anything he did was in garbage time pretty much. I could be wrong but I just don’t see it. James also played against good competition coming from Cardozo H.S. I think in Brooklyn. Braswell was a small fish in a small pond.

Kadary BETTER be ready, lol. Not that it matters since he’ll get like 3 mpg. Braswell I bet will leave too. If we can’t land some impact transfers then we will legit need to play some walkons at some positions other than C. This is crazy. Can’t imagine the AD is happy about this mass exodus.
