Well I think everyone would agree there. We need to add high end talent and athleticism to compliment that shooting. Something that Kaluma fits nicely at this late stage in the game for the 21-22 roster.

Again, we need guards and guards with speed/ballhandling/downhill attacking, IMO, or else all these forwards won’t matter much.

Yea but we are not getting another guard for this years team. Unless it is someone way off the radar or a project to sit for a couple years it is not happening. So why not go add a high end talent that also has some guard like skill.
Everyone agrees it is not the most exciting or comfortable feeling having JG3 as the starting PG. I am just not sure what that has to do with Arthur Kaluma.

We don’t have any downhill guards or any real threats with speed and downhill attacking ability. It’s going to be a handicap all year which will keep us at that general level of mediocrity. It’s that rinse ‘n repeat of being constantly jump shot/3-ball dependent. Really frustrating.

Yeah don’t understand why Kaluma hasn’t trimmed us from his list, frankly. There is no way he is going to get the playing time he supposedly wants. I sure hope (but doubt) the staff is looking at an impact guard/ballhandler. Way more important. We barely have any impact guard ballhandlers with speed who attack. It’s crazy. Come on now don't you know JB knows what he's doing and if JG remained the starting PG all season last season, you know we are going to rock and roll with again with him at point to lead us to the Final4. (tongue in cheek post).

Haha. I just will never understand why JB is cool with three guards...especially these three. I mean you are one injury away from being in deep trouble. Any legit team has multiple ballhandlers who can attack. We don’t really have any. Maybe Symir proves me wrong but methinks he is more of a game manager type.

Can’t help but wonder if Jimmy had not committed to SU if we land Kaluma. I think we do... and that’s a damn shame because Kaluma has much more talent and athleticism than Jimmy does.

The one thing Jimmy could help with more than Kaluma at first is strength and being able to operate in the post-midrange. I think Jimmy is comfortable there and isn’t a beanpole. However, he still hasn’t played ball in a year. Also, we‘ll see how it translates to ACC play and high level D1. Jimmy looked pretty good against us in the past because our Zone stunk and everybody scored inside against Sidibe and those interior guys. Our interior D the past few years had turned low caliber frontcourt players into Olajuwons. Sidibe/Dolezaj often offered no resistance whatsoever down there. Still, I would much rather have a high caliber attacking downhill guard than another forward with how this roster is looking now and in near future.

I think I prefer Jimmy over Cole because of some versatility and size. Would of loved an Arthur/Jimmy combo. Feels like our roster is probably set going into next year.
