Idk...I kinda like us here for certain reasons. I hate when I get sucked in but this one might work out in our favor. Then again we suck with bigs so I wont be shocked when its not us.

I'm gunna copy and paste from dark side forum sorry guys just hard to keep up. But this is my thoughts here on this one...
Kentucky I cant see in this one. Isaiah Jackson clone. He doesn't fit and they are way to similar of players. I hope he sees past the hype. They also have Lance Ware and it wouldnt suprise me for them to go after Sarr. They are pursuing Cisse who they would love to reclass to 2020 as well and he just named his top 5 or 6. It just doesnt make sense to me but its UK so I would never bet against them. 5 star kids love to go there regardless of roster situation. Hopefully with the kid being as smart as he is he sees past the BS and hype.
Western Kentucky scares me. That dude brings a big bag to the table when he plays. No other explanation as to how he continues to land stud players and they suck as a program. Slick rick $$$$$$$
Seton Hall sucks but that's just because I hate them. Not sure what their roster looks like but they are still in the running for Adama Sanogo and they have been building lately...I hate that I have to say that but they have. Ugh...they suck so it's a no for them from me lol.
Arkansas is kinda a strange one but idk? Cant picture it.
San Diego St one could be something to watch considering hes been playing at prolific prep out west he might like the west coast scenery etc and again I know nothing of their roster situation and how good they can be.
From a basketball standpoint (without my orange colored glasses on) we make the best case and make the most sense but it usually doesnt play out that way for us. Just my opinion. Really smart kid and I'm sure his family has a good handle on things so hopefully they see what we have to offer. Fits our style of play perfectly just like Isaiah Jackson would have. ACC/Fan Base/New and improved Dome/Melo center/HOF coach and great assistants and family atmosphere. But the big thing is our roster...kid has to see a good situation to earn serious playing time and having shooters surround him. This would be a huge pickup. Fingers crossed. Just my thoughts. *maybe I do have my orange colored glasses on but I dont fricken care!*
I HATE THAT I ALWAYS LET MYSELF GET SUCKED IN WHEN IT COMES TO GOOD BIG MEN ONLY TO BE DISAPPOINTED. Nothing will suprise me with this one but honest to god it should be us god damn it. Close the deal on zoom or whatever the frick u gotta do JB. Not even sure who the lead is on this one? Thinking Autry? Anyone know?

Yeah Western Kentucky has been probably up to no good lately. Could be tempting.
Seton Hall has been more solid and stable than us as a whole for the majority of the past 4-5 years. They may have more ‘juice’ than us IMO right now and have had some good players and bigs the past few years. Don’t forget, these kids weren’t really old enough to see or remember us with Wes Johnson, MCW, Waiters, etc. We’ve been playing an ugly and stale brand of ball for most of their time developing into a prospect with a couple of high attendance Duke games as a nice spectacle.
Maybe the Arkansas staff have some connects with him. I’ve been to Fayetteville many times actually and it’s a sweet college town. Athletic complex area is like an Ohio St or Florida level. They have all that Walton (Walmart) and Tyson foods money pumping into the sports there. SEC ball is obviously on the upswing and they play a good brand of ball with an electric home atmosphere. Not that I think they are a favorite but they have a pretty sweet situation down there. br] Yeah San Diego St could be a sleeper. More than that. They were a potential F4 sleeper team, IMO, this last season at worst a 6 seed the past few years even coming from their league. They have nobody in the portal and much of roster back. Should be real solid. Good program, dope weather, CA roots like you say.
I think Kentucky is out for those reasons you mention.

Not sure how much juice and cred we have right now when players look at our roster. Griffin has a direct route to playing 35 mpg so that’s an easier sell filling Elijah’s role and with him being a NY/Steppinac kid originally. Dior is supposedly coming in three years bringing the cavalry. Cool. But I doubt most of these kids truly enjoy watching our brand of ball, schemes, nor want to play for an aging coach right now. Our roster just isn’t good enough either. Hope I’m wrong!

Our roster just isn’t good enough either. Hope I’m wrong! I'm not going to disagree with you about our brand the past few years. I did enjoy watching our team more last season then the previous few. We have some shooters that we can surround a "good" big with. We havent had a good big and I'm sure this kid is smart enough to see that. He could be the change and the big factor to make us a more complete team. With the addition of kadary/newton and our 3 point specialist and marek at the 4 and NOT a MINUTE at the 5 we could be solid and run a offense that we can actually use our big in (assuming we have a big that's good enough like frank) just have to convince him of that and show him OLD tape of rak lol. Thanks for the perspective on Arkansas. Sounds like they are solid but I still cant picture a top kid like this wanting to play basketball there....could be wrong tho. Seton hall definitely has a legitimate shot and as you said has been on the upswing lately...they are still pursuing sanogo so maybe that works out in our favor depending on timeframe of all these kids decisions. The West coast stuff and San Diego Sts team and roster makes sense. I've heard right now it's kind if a UK/Cuse race but who knows. I think this kid wants to play in a major conference on a big time program. Although we have had some tough times we still do fit that bill. Gotta do a better job at selling this kid and closing the deal with these recruits. Losing these battles is getting old. UK just doesnt make sense to me with the roster they have and the guys they are still trying to get but I wouldnt be shocked if he wants to go there...cant blame a kid for wanting to go to UK. Slick rick $ is the scary one lol.

Slick rick $ is the scary one lol. Good stuff. Yeah, lol has Stansbury been looked at by the NCAA or Feds? I can’t remember anymore. Yeah I don’t think Arkansas will get him but it’s surprisingly sweet down there. That whole athletic complex on campus there is DOPE. If it’s UK/SU then in theory we should be OK though maybe the UK offer is too tempting to pass up. I don’t know. I just hope Kadary comes in like gangbusters. Need to minimize Buddy’s time on the court somehow (from a D perspective and he gives you nothing else on offense) and get more speed/penetration on the court. We still shot only 32 or 33% from 3 last year WITH Hughes (The Andrew White/Lydon/Gillon team was 38%) and I wonder if will be better next season. They may have been more fun to watch pulling up and jacking up long threes as opposed to pounding the rock in one spot like Frank Howard/Tyus but that isn’t good basketball either. Probably the best chance to win games though, sigh. We were taking tons of contested shots and movement/assists were plummeting heading towards the end of the season. I still worry about scheme and structure on offense. Gonna return to Last Dance now. Cheers.

I am NJ guy and Willard actually lives in the town I grew up in so I certainly root for Seton Hall and they are no doubt on the upswing and haven been. He has done a great job bringing kids in (none so highly ranked with the exception of Whiteside) and brought them along in 3/4 years.
I cant say they have more juice than us right now though. Maybe a more enjoyable and appealing brand/system to play in? I would not disagree. But I do not agree with more juice. Despite their upswing and recent success, they have not even gotten out of the first weekend. (This year may of bucked the trend) If my memory is correct they have only one win in the dance. Cuse history, 30k people in the dome, the ACC being on ESPN, etc I would still say we have more juice and appeal.

Unfortunately the Cuse history goes out the window with a lot of these kids since we have not been a good team (except for a couple of flukey NCAA wins) throughout their peak development as a middle school/H.S. kid. I don’t think Boeheim has that kind of pull anymore and where else was/is there a program where some kids were legitimately committing to play for/with the Asst (Hopkins) and not the HC (JB). Hopkins saved many relationships too while kids were at SU. The program is a goddamn mess. SHU have been comfortably in the tournament since the 15-16 season. Even nearly beat Kansas after beating NC St two years ago in the Tourney. This year they were a LEGIT F4 team and Bilas thought so too. You have probably a better pulse on SHU though. Historically no question and maybe we do have more cred/juice than them now. I bet it’s awfully close. Our systems/scheme and age of the coach does us no favors, IMO.

Yes totally agree that cuse's history is pretty moot to a 17 year old right now.
Just saying that even locally SH does not generate a lot of buzz or juice. St.Johns has a better chance to do that if they can turn it around because of the Garden and NYC.

Nothing to take serious but still worth sharing If he chooses WKU over SU it’s a bag 💰 As for the other programs... I won’t like it if he chooses Kentucky because I can’t stand them. But, if he chooses Arkansas, San Diego St or Seton Hall over SU with the opportunity he’d have here we got problems. Oh yeah... I’ve been saying this for a few years now. C’mon!!!

Yeah WKU will have to be a bag. These days I would not be surprised at ALL if a recruit picks Arkansas, SDSU, or SHU over us. Just google the Arkansas athletic complex, btw. I’ve been down there recently. It’s sick. This program desperately needs to change the narrative regarding bubble, Lunardi/SU on the bubble videos constantly come Jan-March, NIT, Zone, etc. That and/or get a new system and a coach with some juice in here fast or else much of the same success or lack thereof on the court will continue, IMO. 14 loss seasons and being middle of the ACC ain’t gonna cut it. You can get to the NBA from anywhere. If we are going to stay mediocre at best then recruits may want to do the same somewhere else in a warm climate like San Diego or Fayetteville. Hope I’m wrong but nothing about the recruiting these days surprises me. This may come across as a ‘negative Nancy’ take but I‘m honestly trying look at this realistically and objectively.
