The Dad could have about 373 kids, well maybe just 3, in the tourney next year (assuming the Sister isn't a Senior)

I like him but damn he's lazy on D at times and takes some of the most horrible shots too. He really should be playing the 2 but with BB ain't going to happen.

Yeah he’s a strange player. At times he really makes some sweet passes. But, his shot selection like you say is often terrible. Even the one early against WVU was a terrible shot that happened to go in. He’s just not a 3 in the Zone and I believe he could’ve played the 2. I mean Janulis would come in at the 2 and he never had a very good handle. I could see him leaving since he really should be playing the 2 somewhere.

He really seems to give 100% every second of his time on the court. He's always saved us a couple times, and probably is responsible for one win just by chasing people down for blocks on breaks going the other way. With all that being said, his shot selection is questionable, and for having a decent handle he is a bit like Carey where he just seems to turn it over way too much against almost no pressure. He's not Carey level bad, but he has some strange turnovers. He also hustles himself out of position on defense a lot. He's an enigma, but probably more of a 2 than a 3.

No doubt he gives 100% and plays with tons of energy. But sometimes on defense especially in a zone its about working smart not hard. And he can get lost out there.
No doubt he would be more comfortable at the 2 guard and be effective at the top of the zone with less responsibility. But his handle is putrid. There is no way you can get by with him being your secondary ball handler.
He without a doubt can fill it up when he has it going though. JB mentioned earlier in the year trying to get him to be more than just someone who hunts their 3. I really do see a fair amount in Eli in him, but year 1 Eli. Eli took a MASSIVE jump to his second year playing being able to handle and a more all around player. Eli body also better suited for bottom of the zone.
At this point I would be pretty surprised if Alan is back. Would prefer Quincy return over him for sure.

I feel like he's genuinely someone that hasn't figured it out yet - which is odd considering the pedigree and level of coaching he must get. I think his handle is decent, he just doesn't quite get how to dribble and when depending on the defense. It's sort of odd and a hard argument to make, but I think he's likely close. Whether he gets there, who knows. I like the comp to Eli, if he could slow down with the ball, and look for smart shots (as it feels like he's hunting them at times), I think he could be a really good player.

Well at the P5 level if you’re gonna be a 2 guard everything you mentioned is that of a putrid handle lol. Yes he has a high ceiling, Eli could barely put the ball on the floor his first year too.
I would doubt he’s on the roster next year. Maybe goes to Duke to play with his brother.

I‘m sort of with Lucas on this. I don’t think his handle is putrid. We’ve seen him middle of the season especially drive it from the wing or elbow for a layup. Granted it doesn’t happen often but it has been done. He also has made some sweet passes off the bounce. His problems seem to be in the open court or in traffic (usually in the open court) or the dribbling exhibition behind the 3pt line Kris Joseph or Oshae attempted which usually resulted in nothing. Again, it Marius Janulis can play the 2 then Griffn can.

Happy to agree to disagree. I suppose instead of saying putrid what I should say is that if he is your secondary ball handler, you're in trouble.

Maybe today is one of those days!!!

I like Marek, but he never had the chance to play in position. But I agree AG can go.

And our quest to becoming the least athletic P5 makes progress. I know I just posted it somewhere else, but I hate boring basketball, and we seem to heading further and further into that hole. We're not even as exciting as Notre Dame. Anyway, I know it's not the popular view point, but I really like Griffin. I liked his game and felt like he was close to something. I doubt we coached him well. I don't feel like improving on players' individually is a strength much any more.
