Do we have any other bigs prioritized if we miss out on Flip? I still think we have a shot, but we lost Clingan. We could really use a solid big man.

Dean just dropped a pod on his performance. Was VERY impressed. Judging by his social media activity, Flip seems to be all about Duke. Probably can kiss him goodbye and now Michigan offered. We gotta hope to land one of Copeland/Starling. This 2022 class is huge. Need a major PG out of this class, IMO. Lands and Taylor are nice but they aren’t alphas and need help out there. It would be a HUGE disappointment if we don’t get Copeland or Starling. Have a feeling that after Peach Jam some of the heavy hitters will be after Copeland and it’s disappointing a bit that he hasn’t committed yet.

Bummer because I think he’d thrive here. I hope we can come away with JJ or QC but who knows. We’re now showing interest in Denver Anglin, who I’ll admit has some game. He’s not the prototypical big guard at the top of the zone though. We’re also allegedly interested in Peter Carey a PF who appears to be highly skilled but rail thin (just how JB likes them). It’s going to be interesting to see who else we can reel in. I also like Bunch’s game.

Need dynamic guards and downhill attackers. Anglin looks like he could be a solid Plan C but I don’t want to be left at the altar without a dynamic guard in this class. We have been lacking these type big time in the past 5+ years.

Flip seems like a Duke or Cuse decision. Granted that probably means Duke but what has been said he plans to take his time into the Fall. So if that is the case there is always the chance Duke walks away with another 5 star at his position which could help.
From a guard perspective landing both JJ and QC would UNREAL. With that said in an effort to not get greedy would love to be able wrap one up soon. We do seem to be in a solid spot for both, particularly QC.
All in all it is only 7/14, these kids have not even started senior year and we have two top 50 kids with one who is probably a top 30 guy. Pretty good starting spot just hope we can finish it off. One of QC/JJ, Bunch, and a big (Christ, Carey, Flip, or whoever else is out there)

One of QC/JJ, Bunch, and a big (Christ, Carey, Flip, or whoever else is out there) Oh for sure that would be awesome if both commit. Probably a legit F4 contender if so. Fortunately this Denver Anglin looks to be the real deal and then some of we strikeout on both Copeland and Starling. Anglin was getting more minutes than Westry for the NY Rens and producing. He also gave one of the Michigan commits a tough time. He’s not the usual type of SU guard. He’s diesel/stocky and can shoot. A Carson Edwards type from Purdue a few years ago who dropped 41 on UVA in the E8. Again, Lands and Taylor without dynamic ballhandling guards isn’t enough to make a legit push. I’m not quite sold on Lands being a 2. Both are good athletes but not elite. Those awesome SU teams with Owens/Coleman were held back because the PG play and ballhandling wasn’t good enough. Some of those loaded Baylor teams with all of those athletic forwards and frontlines like 4-5 years ago…same thing. Guard play not good enough. Now they revamped their whole system and play small ball. Hopefully we land one of Anglin/Copeland/Starling. It’s paramount if we want to compete for an ACC title and an actual legit deep Tourney run. I think Starling is a Alabama lean right now. Copeland who knows. Anglin is going to garner a lot of attention too now.

Oh of course. But we are absolutely bringing in one if not two true ballhandling guards in this class. Will it be JJ or Quadir? We hope, but if it is not we will .go after plan B guys like Anglin.
