Hes a street ball player, a circus shot maker…
But…
He’s got no outside shot. He’s not a good passer. His shot selection is terrible. Half of his points come off foul shots, that won’t get called in the pros. He’s soft too.

Agreed.
He’s got a pretty good handle, and some one on one moves, and yes he can make some tough shots in the lane and off the dribble mid range shots when he’s cooking, and is pretty fast in transition.
There’s ability and there’s talent.
But yeah, his outside shot is subpar and his feel for how to play PG is bad. Hard to be an NBA PG when you aren’t a good passer and your whole game is just go one on one and throw up some Bs and hope it goes or they call a foul.
He’s like a homeless man’s Allen Iverson.

Mintz is garbage and will never play in the NBA. He came back for the wrong reasons and it’s going to be an issue.

Someone really needs to get this kid to focus on understanding how to play the point guard position, and to stop focusing 100% of his talent on figuring out ways to make it look like he got fouled by shooting awkwardly and falling down.
Just shoot the freaking ball if you're capable - all this shooting sideways, kicking out, and leaning in while trying to shoot has gotten so over the top ridiculous. Plus, he takes these idiotic shots at idiotic times.
It's not helping him.

He’s a lazy defender, a poor leader, a mediocre shooter, with a poor basketball IQ. He’s trying to get fouled all the time, and his gambles on defense really put us at a disadvantage playing 4 against 5. He’s sadly my least favorite player. Justin Taylor is bad too but at least he knows his place, and doesn’t try to do too much.

Poor shooter, poor defender, not a particular good penetrator and an average passer. I'd be completely shocked if he came close to making an NBA roster.

I remember trying to be nice and saying maybe he could become like a Dennis Schroeder and gramps laughed and scoffed at me, as if I insulted him.
I hope Judah is more grounded in reality, but I doubt it.

basically, he's the type of player I'd expect to go to a school like Pitt or Depaul

Brown is the only guy we have that I think has a real chance at the NBA. Starling, with an outside chance.
If he was a little taller and more of a leaper and better rim protector, I’d say Brown would be a lock.
As is, I think he can get there if he becomes a decent outside shooter - and his FT % and form make me think there’s a decent chance he can do that.

I'll give him some credit for the game tonight - it's the first time in awhile I recall him taking NORMAL mid-ranger jumpers and not going bananas trying to get fouled He looked better just letting the game/points come to him

You don’t play for fouls. Just get buckets.

Hoping maybe a light went off about how he needs to play to make the best team, versus doing with what he's comfortable doing because it's worked for so long.
