Pacers over Knicks in 6 Celtics over Cavs in 4 Celtics over Pacers in 5 Nuggets over TWolves in 6 OKC over Dallas in 6 Nuggets over OKC in 6 Nuggets over Celtics in 7 Let’s fast forward to the finals. The East is early 2000’s bad. The Knicks are getting to the conference finals. I won’t say they will beat the Celtics, but they are the type of team that can. Boston has proven to be soft over the past few years and I don’t see any difference this year. Denver is the champ, but not sold they get more say Minnesota either. Something is off with them this year. The lack of bench might catch up with them against Minnesota or OKC.

day2 First year in a new building - Clips gotta run it back, right? Would assume they need stars and a playoff team to get fans in the building. Kinda like the Nets when they first got to Brooklyn.

Though I don’t particularly care for all those Villanova guys, I’d rather see the NY fans win than the Indiana fans. So I hope you’re right. You may be right, my hot take prediction is the Pacers can really score, and not sure the Knicks can keep up. I think both teams will get a couple of close games in their favor, but fear that Indiana has a buzzsaw game or two in them that Philly didn’t.

Yeah, that’s my expectation. PG is somewhat of a question mark. Who knows, maybe a less taxing schedule will help keep everyone healthy for a change.

Anthony Edwards is a great player but the people need to cool it with the Michael Jordan comps for the guy. He is a great player who is maturing into a superstar and top 5 player in the league and athletically he may be on par with MJ but he is not MJ until he does this for a decade and has multiple championships.

Kobe is the closest thing to another Michael Jordan. LeBron is in the discussion for GOAT but he isn’t Michael Jordan. Edwards has the similar game but again let him be compared to Kobe not MJ. 1987 MJ with todays rules probably averages 40ppg:

I feel like this is the only sport they do it to this extent in, and I don’t remember b-ball fans being like this when I was a kid.

I understand but Jordan averaged 37ppg in 1987 when players could be fouled and hand checked. If you couldn’t handcheck Jordan old MJ would average 40ppg. I don’t like the Ant comp to MJ though. It’s crazy and unfair to Ant.

That Jordan is still the standard and not any of these other guys should at some point convince people to just stop, you would think.

Was unstoppable in his prime. Had the same competitive streak. He just wasn’t better. He was damn close. No need to comp anyone to MJ. Kobe pretty did it. MJ is my # 1 alltime and I would put Kobe in the 6-10 range alltime. MJ, LeBron, Kareem, Magic my top 4. Then you have Bird, Duncan, Kobe, Wilt, Russell and it’s all subjective.

You guys have Kobe way higher than I do. He wasn’t even the best player for the Lakers first 3 titles in that era and never lead the league in win shares. I said two years ago that Curry passed him when the Warriors beat Boston.

People are always going to want to compare an all time great, because they want to see that level of greatness again. I mean that's the bench mark, so anybody's game resembling it in any way, it's going to be compared. Now I don't think 99% of people are saying the kids MJ level of greatness, but they see traits. I don't see any big deal with it. Now if some idiot says he's going to be as good as MJ, that's a different story.
