If someone would have told me this 6 or 7 months ago this kid would be playing this well I would have laughed at them, however Griff saw something different in this kid.

I like his potential but think he will need a year or two to get stronger. Our awesome strength and conditioning program should be able to help? LOL

He‘s really improved his game. Looks good. I think he has more skill and upside than Quincy, frankly, and playing better competition than him as well at the same stage. He’s more advanced, athletic, quick, and skilled than Braswell right now, IMO. If he can put on even a little more muscle before college then maybe he’s able to contribute right away. We need all hands on deck next season! 😳

I actually went back and found the stuff from before to make sure I wasn't misremembering. I really like him and think he will maybe need 1 year to get strong enough but his game is a lot better than I was expecting coming in. I also met him at the UVA game to start the year. He was sitting with his dad next to Kennedy Chandler and his family. I talked to him for a minute and he seemed all business. He was not on his phone the whole time that I could see and was watching the game and was not looking to talk to people. He made eye contact with me the whole time I talked to him and he seemed very business like. I was very impressed with him and think he is one of the more mature kids I have ever met.

You made the trip from Seattle to that game? Sorry! Yeah, I couldn’t believe the improvements Newton made in a year. Looks like a potential gem. Concerned a bit about rebounding though. A couple of guys and evaluators I trust have mentioned how allergic he is to rebounding. Could be fine if Quincy just sticks to garbage man stuff. Quincy I think put on too much weight and muscle. It’s taken away from his fluidity. I watched some old footage of Quincy and he looked like a slender but chiseled prototypical SG in H.S. Way more fluid than in college. Not sure what happened.

I expect him to have one this week with updates on what went down with Grif's commitment and hopefully have details on how Tape ended up at SU (still pending at the time of this post). BTW welcome back haven't seen you post in a while.

I've been more and more impressed with woody. His game has progressed a lot. I think we got a good one here.
