Oh, hello! I didn't see you standing there. You should be less creepy, Doug.
Anyway... how's everyone doing? Actually, let's get rid of that small talk. Lord knows we don't really care. Instead, let's talk about the most important thing in the world: ourselves. How'd you become a Syracuse fan? You a townie? An alum? Both? Do you enjoy juggling chainsaws or red snappers? I mean, that last one isn't particularly relevant to anything, but seriously, if you can do those things then it'd be kinda dickish NOT to share that with us.
My dad grew up in the Syracuse area (Marcellus) so I was born into the fandom. My uncle went to SU and used to write for the Post-Standard. I've loved Syracuse all my life, and went to SU (class of 2003). I started Otto's Grove basically because I enjoy writing and Syracuse and, if we're really being honest, my wife doesn't particularly care to hear my rants and raves. Living in Texas, there aren't a lot of Syracuse fans around, so the good ol' internet has come in clutch in that regard. I've got a 7-year-old son who, of course, came home from the hospital when he was a newborn in head to toe Syracuse gear.

Hey there! so I will get right to the good stuff. Born and raised about 20 mins north of Scranton and in the same graduating year as GMAC. Fun fact, we beat Gerry Sr yr in high school by a few points albeit he had a bum ankle..
My old man was a huge Cuse fan so grew up following suit. Eventually attended SU , class of 06 so yes it was an absolutely incredible freshmen year. If you go to a Cuse game checkout the wall near gate A, there is a pic of a bunch of my buddies and I from the epic Pitt game in 03, although true to form someone at SU mislabeled it as SU bball 2005. Other than that I am a total stats nerd, a huge fan of quality beer and of course chicken spiedies.. oh and long walks on the beach too.

Townie. Been a fan forever. I literally leave it all on the field as a fan While some people joke about giving an arm and a leg for their team, deuce literally gave TWO legs for his.

I haven't given 2 legs, but I do give 2 s***s about the team, unlike about much of the rest of life! LGO!!
I will add more later. Are grad and townie the only choices?
I like cheap beer, that goes down as easy as a rocky mountain stream, or cheap prostitute(which I learned on King of the Hill is a method some people use to overcome writer's block, and even if the writing part doesnt work, it's not like you wont enjoy it anyhow).
MANTONIO(RIP) (whose name I am not allowed to say on certain places, with the threat of a ban) was my mentor. I'm not that positive anymore though, and can tell it like it is when it feels right.
I sometimes post under the influence of things that may make me happier and more outgoing, loving of my fellow man....but for the most part, it's from the relatively boring state of sobriety.
I no longer live in NY, and wish we had a location thing under the avatar, as I'd like to be listed as from "Parts Unknown".
I hope we dont have pissing contests on here like in some places, I try to look at everyone as equals and apply the Golden Rule.
I like to make wagers on occasion, to put my money where my mouth is.
Did I mention cheap beer? Living like a bum, baby come on get it on! I also like quantum physics, talk of other dimensions, and living outside the matrix. I'll avoid politics, but do love LIBERTY of all sorts, and have a site that Im working on dedicated to it. Our Founding Fathers organized the revolution in BARS, recruiting people with beer. Ben Franklin was quoted as saying it was proof of G*d's love for us. The founders knew sobriety was overrated.
SU and cheap beer(the HOPS in beer lowers your testosterone and increases estrogen, so Im looking for a replacement for beer...maybe Adderall(tm) to help me stay more focused? Imagine posting binges on that, though).
I'm working on being more concise, if anyone had any tips, let me know. Man, all this talk of beer makes me want to hit the bottle(can) now. I have something called "Top Rope", with a Lucha libre mask on it that I got in the "deal door" at my local LQ.

Hmmm let’s see here. I’m a youngin compared to most here as I’m a junior in college. I wish I was going to Syracuse but unfortunately for money reasons, and needing to be close to home that wasn’t an option so I attend Marist college, aka the basement of the MAAC! Anyways, I became a Cuse fan because my pops has always been a big Cuse fan so it just followed over onto me!

Hey all,
My name is Ryan, but I usually go by Walsh. This is my first experience with a Cuse board, but I've been looking for more in-depth ways to stay up-to-date with the programs and this seemed like a great idea.
Let's hope I turn out to be right about that!
A little about me: I'm a 2012 SU grad from Newhouse. At SU I was in Delta Tau Delta fraternity. Some of the best four years I ever had, I wouldn't change them at all.
I was born in NoVA, but raised all over in a Navy family that eventually settled in Virginia Beach, VA.
Hoping to learn a lot from you guys about the teams and contribute my insight where I can. I like drinking in excess, DC sports, hip-hop and indie music. Favorite directors are the Coen Bros, Wes Anderson, and Tarintino.
G'Orange,
Walsh

Welcome Walsh!! Where abouts in NOVA? I worked in Tyson's for 11 years myself before moving back to PA... Alexandria! Lived near Mt Vernon for a bit too when I was a kid. Great part of the country, not great for my blood pressure when you add Cuse basketball to the Capitals

Hey, my brother met his wife living in Alexandria. And more importantly, that’s where I was introduced to the glory of Five Guys.
...which is so easy to take out of context in retrospect. Anyway, I’m gonna be in Alexandria at the end of June for a convention. Can’t wait. DC is one of my favorite towns.

My name's Dave. I use the same username for everything Cuse related. Originally from Rochester NY. My great uncle played football at Cuse back in the day with Jim Nance, Floyd Little, Ernie Davis, etc. My family is diehard Cuse fans. Mom went to law school there during the McNabb years. Moved to VA when I was 12 and grew up in Virginia Beach. I currently live in Arlington VA, but will be moving to Alexandria in June. I work as an IT consultant on federal government projects. I make it a point to attend at least 1 home and 1 road football game a year. Some years I've been lucky to do multiple road games living in ACC country. Will be attending the FSU and ND games and possibly Pittsburgh this upcoming season.
