SG - ANDRE JACKSON - ALBANY ACADEMY (NY)
SF/PF- WOODY NEWTON (MT. ZION, MD)
SF - MATHEW-ALEXANDER MONCRIEFFE -(Canada)
SF - DERRICK JONES - Oak Hill Academy (VA)
PF - NOAH COLLIER - Westtown School (PA)
PF ISAIAH JACKSON - Detroit MI
C - CLIFFORD OMORUYI - NJ
C - Hunter Dickerson - DeMatha (MD)
C - DAIN DAINJA - Park Center (Minn)

Also started tacking threads of our Top Targets that we think SU still has a shot at signing for the 2020 class. This list will change from time to time.

Also, of the guys you listed I don't see a PG. I also don't think we will land any of those centers. Maybe if one of them gets hurt and their stock drops a la Ajak. Otherwise, they will not come to Syracuse. The only guys you list I think we have a snowballs chance in hell to land are Andre Jackson, Woody Newton or Alexander-Moncrief, none of which are bigs or play PG. I'm not liking our recruiting priorities or roster management, but that's nothing new. Wish I could write differently...

I haven't seen much on Sibley lately so not sure we are still pursing plus Dean made a good comment in his Pod about him and said would probably be hard to get him out of Midwest. If things change I'll add him. I hope they do offer the kid from Canada that's a PG Kareem Mane.

LMAO. The Professor enlightens us on recruiting philosophy. Props to the female reporter. The good stuff starts at 1:30 then he starts getting testy when she asked her second question.

Actually, the NBA does draft players based on defense and other intangibles. Nerlens Noel, Kenneth Faried, Gobert, Patrick Beverly, etc. Those guys were NOT drafted because of offense, lol.

In addition, he admits to recruiting guys with less strength because it's not needed in the zone??? That's insane! We got outrebounded by physical teams with ease not because of size, but because of strength. And that's going to continue this season too... outside of Hughes and Guerrier we've got twigs on the roster (Goodine, Edwards, JBA, Dolejaz, Carey, and Braswell). OMG what the hell is wrong with him that he can't see this? ??

OMG what the hell is wrong with him that he can't see this? ?? I know. It’s so asinine that it hurts thinking about it. “We can get away with playing thinner guys and guys with less strength...” Um, no you can’t!! It’s really annoying because there were many games like you say where we were abused on the glass and down low. So easy and lopsided. A few post game pressers Boeheim is even lamenting that they don’t have the strength and physicality down low. The Oregon game rings a bell. Well, get some physical guys then! Sadly, I don’t think he cares enough or apparently is delusional enough to believe that “we can get away with thinner guys...” He may try like trying to recruit Isaiah Stewart but those guys won’t come here. I think it has come to a point where Boeheim has to take what he can get re: recruiting. Long gone are the days where Boeheim and the SU staff can show up to gyms/workouts and nab some stud difference maker. Villanova didn’t win their titles with length. They had a bunch of bulldogs, a bunch of guys who could pass, shoot, score, rebound ,defend. Physical kids without a lot of ‘measurables.’ Interchangeable parts. In fact, I heard Jay Wright on Sirius last year in an interview. He tells kids when they are being recruited that they WILL learn to rebound, defend (why Quinerly didn’t see the floor) pass, etc. I really like that. Too often I feel our player development is also lacking. Too often I hear Boeheim say, “We aren’t strong. We can’t run. We aren’t a good passing team. We can’t rebound.” Insane, lol.

I wish Jay Wright was SU's coach at times.

Yes!
Doesn't JB realize that these statements contradict each other:
1. We can get away with having guys that are a little thinner because we play zone.
2. We aren't a very physical team, and we get outrebounded and pushed around because of it.
Either size/muscle matter or they don't. He plays it from both sides.
OF COURSE size/strength matter!!!! We won't win shit when our starting lineup is outweighed by an average of 30 pounds at multiple positions! The majority of the games we lost last season were against more physical teams.
You're also right, that JB can't recruit bigs worth shit, so we take what we can get. The scrap heaps. I will say this... IF JBA can stay healthy (big if), he may be one of the better bigs we've had in a while. He was highly ranked until his injury. But Jesse as his compliment makes zero sense. And that's not a knock on Jesse. He may well prove to become a nice player, but the combination of Jesse, JBA and Dolejaz offers ZERO beef, and is truly unacceptable.

They off of Addison Patterson now? I see he is being transitioned to PG for his AAU team and high school team. Saw him at the BIOSTEEL game, at 6'7 he sees over everything and passes the ball very well. Shooting is good, does not seem like a crazy athlete like Jackson is, but then again different position.
To be honest I think they have a shot at 3 guys, Jackson and Collier for sure and then the third is up in the air. Buddy going off scholarship seems like a done deal if it means grabbing a top player. Not sure about Washington, is Howard medically cleared to play? I am sure if he transferred he would be able to play ASAP. I saw him a few years ago at the BIOSTEEL game and he shot the ball well. Pretty sure he won the 3 point contest. Wonder if he is in the plans, or Jim is putting all his eggs in the Carey.
It is funny reading comments and then looking at the offers they have made, seems like everyone is like 6'5 to 6'7, with a 7 foot reach! Great Athletes are one thing, but as my old hockey coach said, you can not teach size.

We saw it this year time and time again getting destroyed down low, on the boards, getting rooted out of position, etc. Color me concerned with JB’s playing of russian roulette trying to convert combos/2s/3s even into PGs. This is lunacy but JB actually recruited Rondae Hollis-Jefferson to play PG, lol. Unreal. Now he never would’ve come here regardless because of Book R/Arizona but, still, come on.

RHJ a point guard??? Now that's funny.
As for Addison Patterson, I don't see him coming here.

Once Patterson went west it was pretty much bye-bye which sucks as we were on him earlier and thought we had a good shot if he stayed up in Canada or somewhere up north.
BTW there have been recruiting events this weekend and I have yet to see any tweets or any mentions with SU coach or assistants at any one. If this is the case and true it's pretty disturbing.

I saw on the other board that Griff is there, but haven't been able to confirm this. Apparently JB is doing a fundraiser for cancer today?
