Really going to be interesting to see which PG out of the three (hopefully it's one of them) end up at SU. I thought early on chances with Westry were excellent but I'm not sure at this point. I think it's going to be between Starling and Copeland though. I like both of their games so it's a win/win if we get either.

Seems like the staff wants both JJ and QC but I think we’ll get one. I’m not sure who I prefer. Part of me says JJ because he’s local and probably a bit more ready, but damn I like Quadir a lot too. I was hoping we’d hear something from one of them soon. I think JJ would definitely be able to capitalize on NIL rule in Syracuse over any of his other choices. He’d be a local star.

I like Copeland's upside plus he's a true PG where as JJ isn't a true PG.

Point guard problems has directly contributed to our woes and being consistently average/middle of the pack. Copeland or Starling would be big time gets and the size up top JB has a chubby for. I probably prefer Starling based on that glowing report from Givony last month but Copeland is an excellent prospect as well. Neither seem to have ballhandling issues. That’s my main concern always with SU guards. One of the MAJOR problems with guys like Carey, Joseph, etc., that derailed things for the program.

Having a "true pg" does not concern me as much if you have multiple guys who can all handle the ball and handle pressure. If that means JJ or Cope, a senior JG3, JT, Kamari, and whoever else we will be totally fine. B triche and Scoop both werent the greatest tightest ball handlers but when you have multiple guys it is not a huge issue. Much different than Joe at the 1, and buddy being primary handler 2.
If we can get greedy id LOVE to land both and see if JJ can elevate to a 1 and done or 2 year guy, and copeland be a pillar 4 year guy who can become an All conference player maybe AA by his junior and senior year. Tough with the portal option but a man can dream.

Tough with the portal option but a man can dream. It’s also simply not having enough guards during our last 5-7 year run of mediocrity who can create for themselves or others. Especially with how JB prefers to play which is heavy ISO/Pnr but without enough NBA caliber types of guards. Whether it is the aforementioned ballhandling problems or lack of speed, we just haven’t had those guys. And if you don’t have some of that then you better have a true PG if you have talent elsewhere on the roster. Regardless, we haven’t had enough quality guards since Ennis. A true PG (Howard Washington doesn’t count) or ballhandlers/attackers. Being in good shape with either Starling/Copeland is promising. Otherwise, we will remain mediocre if we continue to not get those types or if the players coming in can’t cut it (Carey/Goodine).

Someone asked Eric about leader for JJ and here was his reply -
I don't know if there is any kind of clear leader for JJ Starling at this point, but I do think some prime competitors are starting to emerge.
The top 40 guard from New York who attends La Lumiere in Indiana will definitely be setting up some fall visits and my understanding that finding a great balance between hoops and high end academics is going to play a very large role in making his decision.
I would never want to rule out Syracuse. A return home is always appealing and the Orange are typically strong with kids who grew up with a great knowledge of the program. Duke has turned things up a bit of late and watched him a lot over the last weekend so they'll certainly be in the mix. Stanford is another that looks to be a very legitimate option as well. Those are three that stand out to me. A few others that I would maybe keep an eye on as programs in shouting distance are Maryland, Northwestern, Notre Dame and UConn.

Just an unreal job of him and his family/camp keeping things quiet and people guessing.

Just an unreal job of him and his family/camp keeping things quiet and people guessing. Picked up a Notre Dame pick today. I would love to land him but usually CB picks the day of an announcement are accurate.

Notre Dame, as expected. C’est la vie. It hurts… but I think Cope is going to be better. I know that’s a crazy prediction but I think he has a better physique, and more hops.
We’re in line to get Brown and likely Bunch too. That’s still a heck of a class.
