Are peoples consensus that he is not coming here because he will be able to jump right to the NBA? Or because he will be a one and done elsewhere? Don't get me wrong, I realize we are a LONG way from Dior and whoever else from that class being on campus. But just seems unfair to criticize the staff for landing him and looks like lining up others. We have killed them for not being able to land high end talent, (rightfully so as well) so just feels like a damned if they do damned if they don't situation. I guess what I am saying is that for the present time, why are we upset we just landed our highest rated recruit since Melo? I don’t think anyone here has criticized the staff for offering and getting an early verbal commitment from Dior. Great job. I can be skeptical that Dior ever comes to Syracuse and still be glad we’re trying. Really they are two separate issues. I will say this, however... If the staff approaches Dior’s commitment as set in stone, and don’t have potential backup players to offer because we are putting the keys to the success of our program into the hands of a 15 year old kid (or however old he is) then I’m concerned. In other words if Dior doesn’t sign his letter of intent on the earliest date allowable, or the NBA is indeed going to take players right out of high school, then the staff better not sit on their hands praying this kid is true to his word. No kid is worth hijacking the future of the program if you can get another 4 star guy to sign on. It’s all about keeping things in perspective and remembering how old this kid is and that his verbal commitment, as awesome as it it, is not binding. They have to be smart. Definitely not upset with staff for going for it. But they better keep their antenna up, and have a REAL plan B in place. I agree with all of this. I’m ecstatic that today Dior wants to play for Syracuse. Best news in a long time. I’m glad the staff are still trying to land elite guys. But that doesn’t mean I can’t be concerned. It’s a risky thing to trust a teenager to keep his word because by default teens cave to peer pressure, outside influences, and they’re notoriously fickle. I hope it all works out. I also hope we keep relationships strong with other point guards too, because trusting a teen has burned us before.

Apparently Dior Johnson deleted all references to Syracuse in his instagram or Twitter or whatever, and no longer says "Syracuse commit" in his twitter bio. This is concerning. Getting ready to hear that he has decomitted. Nothing surprises me anymore with JB still at the helm of this program.

He just posted the following: "Bruh chill this is just social media😂don’t let it run ur world ... this nonsense" If this kid goes to school it will be here. Like he said earlier, he is not a blue blood guy and from everything I have read he believes in relationships. He seems to have that with the program. How many other times have we said the sky is falling?

On one hand I tell myself to relax but on the other hand we are the first school to ever deal with Darius Bazley's antics so you can understand my pessimism.

I’d put a lot of money on Dior not coming if we are in the NIT the next two seasons (would’ve been this one too) which is a realistic possibility , IMO. I’m not even talking about the pro/NBA angle. This program is a dumpster fire if you take off the Orange glasses.

I don’t think there is any other conclusion that can be drawn. He verbally committed to SU, loaded up his social media with SU stuff, and now it’s gone? And I’m supposed to believe he took it down for no reason???
Not buying it. Of course, I never really bought it to begin with. I don’t believe he’s coming here.

He also should have send maybe the coaching staff needs to do a better job of evaluating talent too, especially the HC.
