They have not been out of the second weekend since 96-97. They do not have more juice. Again, I am in no way shape or form saying the program is in good shape. It is not. But the same way people do not like the other board because they say everything is fine, lets not get crazy over here and say Providence is currently a more desirable basketball spot. You and I don’t know this to a certainty. There isn’t a way to prove either one of our positions. I’m just saying I wouldn’t be surprised if they do. We would have to poll coaches, handlers, kids, AAU connected cats, etc. Not talking a historical comparison of modern basketball either. I’m talking juice NOW. If one puts pride aside and takes the last three seasons to now for instance it is eerily similar in terms of seeding going into the Tourney. They also have an NIT like we do however this season they would have mostly likely been in that 8-10 seed line like they usually are while we are staring at an NIT game. Both have been in Dayton. Providence has more ESPN Top 100 recruits than we do in this span and I just wonder if kids, parents, coaches, etc., would rather send their kids to Cooley instead of Boeheim right now. I’m too depressed to even look at Seton Hall where the evidence is more compelling.

I have absolutely nothing to base it off of, and I think you are probably right that a local 50-100 NJ ranked kid may say hell I would rather go to Seton Hall.
But if we are talking elite talent (which i know we have not gotten), that's where I think they would go with us. Syracuse although struggling, is still a national brand.

Will be interesting to revisit this in two years. If Dior and others come then I will eat crow. If, however, we are in two more NITs, Providence stays where they usually are as a 9 or 10 seed-bubble range (as we have been), and Dior walks, then the case is closed. We would’ve sunked that far.

Goodine still hasn't seen more than 10 minutes in a game in 2022. I'm still somewhat shocked he walked himself into a roster loaded with guards.
9 minutes is high since the New Year. Mostly looks like mop up duty though.

Mostly looks like mop up duty though. I’m just mystified at how we can miss the way we have on our highest rated recruits. These guys couldn’t cut it here or elsewhere. I believe Moyer, Goodine, and Carey have been our highest rated recruits along with Benny since Tyus Battle. When you don’t play a bench and carry a short roster it’s hard to overcome not getting a lot out of multiple classes. They keep digging themselves holes difficult to climb out of. Fortunately they hit on transfers like Hughes but all this still keeps us at that Bubble-ish ceiling.
