Nice win. I didn’t get to watch it all, but I did hear the announcers say that Syracuse was bigger at every position except Center. Probably why we’ve beaten them twice. They can’t bully us with size/strength. No Sidibe at all? What was the explanation?
Anyhow, the parts I watched we were hitting outside shots. That’s the only way we can win. Still a very one dimensional team. Against soft/finesse teams we can win though. We should win Saturday against BC.
Will watch full game tape later.

Pretty much. They reacted much better on their slides when a dude in the high post was trying to find a guy down low for a layup or dunk. NV St was a split sec too late making some of those passes too. Alertness and energy on D was much better though Quincy still struggles with recognizing when a shooter is in the corner.
Turnovers. NC St really made a ton of bad ones. Dribbling into turnovers, some bad passes. Our traps helped too. Kadary got a couple but many were inexcusable from NC St. I’m sure Keats will talk about that.
Off ball mvmt much better. Some shaky possessions ended up with buckets. Alan almost had an up&down but found a guy last sec before his feet landed back down. Had some favorable matchups like you said down low. Alan played well and made some tough shots. Buddy after an absolutely atrocious start played pretty well. Beverly had another rough night on D.
I think most importantly they competed. Played with urgency. Got some points in the paint when it seemed like it was getting chippy out there. NC St didn’t get all those dunks like they did in the first matchup. That was big. We’ll take it.

I didn't watch live but was glad to see won. Only to be brought down when I read on the other board that Woody has scrubbed all Syracuse mentikns from his social media. Would really suck to lose him. Like his game.

Like his game. Ouch. Had not heard that. No surprise. He can’t get in the game. What guy wants to rot on the bench? I think we may see several guys transfer out. One or two big men, Woody, and who knows after that?

That would be a bummer. I have to think the realization that Quincy will probably be back, Alan very well too, and Benny coming in could impact there.
Still really hope he is back. Him and Braswell I think are two of our better wing defenders.

I haven’t seen enough of Woody to really have a good feel for what he’s capable of. I definitely think we’re going to lose some guys. I really hope Kadary isn’t one of them.

Yeah we will have to see how things shake down. Is Kadary going to get substantially more minutes next season? Maybe only if Joe transfers? But Joe and Buddy are super tight.
Quincy doesn’t have a position in the NBA and struggles against good college frontlines. Can’t do a lot off the bounce and his shot is streaky. He probably *should* come back but he’s 21 now!
Robert is SUPER awkward but really quick. He’s the most bizarre player I’ve seen on the court on any squad anywhere for awhile. Dolezaj too lol. Robert sort of ice skates around but he’s quick and anticipates well. All he can do on offense is stand and launch a three. It must be a defense thing with Woody since he must be thinking, “Why the F can’t I pass this dude in the rotation?” Haha. Such a weird team.

The blatant nepotism JB has shown has been my biggest issue. And JB does like to protect shooters plus Joe and Buddy are super tight and yes having another 3pt threat at guard we need.
But I have to think even JB isn't at the point the point of delusion that he would let Kadary transfer. If it is a choice between Kadary and Joe. One starts and gets the lion share of minutes and the other transfers I HAVE to think even JB is going with Kadary.
And yes I know I said I would give JB '21 season and '22 class. But if we lose Kadary because of this and we run it back with Joe and Buddy, consider me out.

But if we lose Kadary because of this and we run it back with Joe and Buddy, consider me out. Yeah I agree. If Joe is going to have issues with less minutes and potentially being a bench player then he’s gotta go. To Siena or somewhere. I’ve heard rumblings that he is struggling mentally with his role and less minutes and that GMac has needed to counsel him more than usual. I would think Joe would know that he’s overmatched at times. I get it...he was the man at GFalls and was allowed to do whatever he wanted to and killed it out there. Different story here. For the record, I like him better than Buddy. I think he could be a better Spike Albrecht type and a real microwave/gunner off the bench with the proper teammates. Buddy just isn’t going to come out much. The fact that JB pulled Joe first and not Buddy was criminal. The first 10 min of the game was one of the worst singular performances I’ve seen in awhile from an SU player not named Jalen Carey or Kaleb Joseph. Buddy was turning it over, dribbling too much into traffic, and a sieve on D. Joe got the hook instead. Now Buddy was MUCH better end of 1H and 2H but that was horrendous. I’m don’t gush over Kadary like some do but he needs to play more obviously.

That was evident in the NC State game. Joe took one of patented early shot clock 3's, bad miss but thought he got fouled, complained all the way down the floor and didnt stop ball. JB pulled him (rightfully) and G mac beelined over to where Joe was on the bench.
When Buddy looks bad its BAD. But I do think he offers more in terms of scoring inside the arc. But yes both are best suited for the sixth man lighting in a bottle role and help stretch D. Not be minutes leaders at the position.
