Well we continue to fack up the end of the 1st half like no other. 10 seconds we have ball shotclock off. Somehow that turned into them making a 3 to end the half. Setting screen foul on Jesse. Like clockwork 3 on the other end

Really interested to see how our bigs fare when high D1 guys plan to actually go at them and score. The Drexel bigs were passing but did some decent work on the boards. I like Frank‘s activity. Live body. Thin like Jesse still but I think he has more potential then Jesse. They are coming along though. We will need Frank though since Jesse will always be in foul trouble, IMO.
Better effort 2H despite what JB said. They will need to really work against decent to good teams, IMO, since the athleticism overall from the skill guys isn’t that great. PG position could be the real weak link. Torrence reminds me of a poor man’s Jason Hart like in Jason‘s frosh year. Not a bad thing. He’s got some quickness and size but it’s gonna be a lot of ups and downs with him.
We got some offense from the D in transition and quick hitting threes. That’s going to be important. Almost all of the 1H we had trouble running our stuff against them and getting by their defenders off the bounce…my biggest concern…team collective athleticism/footspeed. Needed those turnovers and transition. It won’t get any easier from now on.

Really really impressed with the center position. Crazy to me that 3 weeks I would be saying that is our strongest/deepest position. Potentially add in Sidbe too in a couple weeks. Forget the potential to be disruptive on D, they both showed some real impressive touch around the rim.
Obviously everything needs to be taken with a grain of salt until we see real P5 opponents, but I was impressed with Drexel from a strength and size standpoint and they obviously shot the lights out which kept the score respectable most of the time.
Probably agreed that the two biggest X factors or Joe and Symir. I have been pleasantly surprised thus far but again the question is can they play against a large athletic PG who will pick them up 75 feet and not force them to turn their back and not allow us to get into our offense by halfcourt.

Yup. Agreed. Centers are coming along. They can at least be deterrents. The play Jesse made where he caught the long pass in transition then dunked it right away without putting the ball back down and/or traveling was nice. Frank made a nice play too although he made almost too many moves ha. We haven’t seen this potential in a long time. Swider wants to be a G. Fine. Works in this system but it’s a good thing we have Jimmy. I’ve been impressed with him. Crafty, some moves, sticks his nose in there, etc. He‘ll get packed and overwhelmed some nights but he’s solid. I like Cole but I can see why he wasn’t a fit there. Likes to play on the perimeter and if he was playing the 4 or 5 at Nova it’s just a bad situation for them and he.

Agreed. And there is no doubt Jimmy Jr belongs. Will the old school YMCA game work as well in ACC play against better athletes? Probably not but he still certainly has a role and is a threat to knock shots down from deep.
I like Cole. Seems to be really bought in (probably realizing we were a better fit for his style all along). Another one who is not a world beater offensively but has frame and touch. Do not expect him to be an Eli Hughes level slasher but competent to put the ball on the floor and try to get to the hoop with the right matchup.
Athletically Benny really stands out, but offensively there is little doubt our best 2 forwards are Cole and Jimmy I think. So we cannot call JB out for nepotism quite yet...

Oh I like Cole but clearly a much better fit here than Villanova. He just plays like 6‘9 SG. At Nova the 4s and 5s need to do more banging while the other three or four guards attack off the bounce. He’s decent off the bounce. Better than I thought.
Benny is s good athlete but a long strider. Not the quickest feet like how Melo had with quick jab steps and such. Melo’s quick burst. Trying to think of who he reminds me of. A more athletic Ryan Blackwell maybe or someone on the other board said Ziaire Williams who was on Texas Tech then was a 1st round pick…not bad. Some idiot also on the other board actually compared him to Melo, lol. Um, no.

Yea really is a shame we did not get him out of HS. Cerebral player too which helps for his lack of athleticism in the zone.

Sidibe needs to just retire from the game or move on. Him trying to come back is going to possible impede what we have now with two decent young centers.
