Those last two possessions of the first half were horrific. It all started w JB. They called timeout w like 45 secs left or Joe dribbled towards JB i can't remember, and I thought Boeheim was telling Joe to go 2 for 1 so we'd get two shots to end the half. NOPE!
What happens instead? 2 turnovers and 4 Miami points. That was the start of the comeback. We managed to be up like 20 points but instead go into halftime while feeling like we were losing while being up 14 lmao.
It all started w JB not telling Joe to launch a quick 3 so we get the ball back again before the half. Why don't coaches see 2 for 1 opportunities to end the half when you have significant seconds above 30 to do that? I don't get it. Anyway, then you see Joe standing right in front of Buddy on the sideline inbounding w the defender right between them, giving him zero room to pass the ball in, turnover and Miami bucket. So incredibly stupid. If the defender is giving Buddy no room to pass you the ball why are you still standing there?!?!

I didn’t feel like we were losing going into the second half, but I felt no safety with any lead this team has. I knew Miami would start pressuring us at some point, didn’t realize they’d do it at the start of the half and when they did, I knew the end was near.

Yeah that TO was the catalyst. Bad mojo heading into H. Larranaga made adjustments and their athletes (still not a very good team, IMO) started creating havoc against our overdribbling. We crumbled and they really starting playing with confidence. Arena came alive. 5:00 into the 2H I knew it was over.

Two3zone, yea I was exaggerating a bit about feeling like we were losing at halftime despite being up by 14, but you captured better what I was really saying- that they made me feel "less safe" or very shaky w that terrible end to the first half.
The bottom line is this... we are now 7-7. I used to hope our Orange team would be heading into the NCAA tourney w 7 or less losses. These days I hope we can make the tourney. We have grown accustomed to this new ceiling/normal and that's what's bad about the state of affairs of SU basketball 🏀. We saw the writing on the wall 5-6 years ago and for years all the idiots out there, especially on the other board, carried the same stupid "it's the sanctions it's the sanctions!" excuse even up to 2020!
Now what's the excuse? We had the chance at being a competitive team w Quincy and Kadary and now look at us. I hope coach is happy after chasing them out of town... he got his family photo.

The end of the first half was pathetic, but not really even unexpected. That inbound was going to end badly regardless. Even if Miami decides not to jump the pass, even if Buddy could actually pass and got it to Joe, Joe would have been doubled by half-court and turned it over.

Probably Lucas, but at least get the freaking ball safely in. The turnover and effort on the initial pass by Buddy were absolutely pathetic.
I have to say though, holy sht what is going on with Jimmy and Buddy now catching the "turnover by unforced error when dribbling a basketball" bug? These guys look like me in 4th grade dribbling the bball out there!

They obviously need help getting open especially since they are probably gassed often and/or end of game since we have no bench.

Yes. They need more motion to get people open. We have nobody that can create well with the ball and often just have people standing about.
