Harper is going there because his brother went there. The other kid is likely due to good recruiting. Rutgers has a decent coach in Pickell. They aren’t going to be really bad as they have a lot of talent in their state and it just takes have your shit together which they finally got done. Even if the brother had a great experience there, I can’t imagine that being enough to get a top recruit like that though, unless money is right? basketball is easier to put money towards cause you have less mouths to feed. Give 2 kids 250k and 2 more 100k or so each and you have a good core versus football you need a dozen great players at least

It’s not the chipwhich itself that’s priceless; it’s sharing them with good Friends and the memories you can’t put a price tag on.

The ACC is “terrible”, yet we’re only .500 in the league, but went 10-2 out of conference and wiped the floor with Oregon and LSU.
Narratives.

UVa up 46-44 on Wake with 1:06 left....in the game.
I respect Bennett and the program he's built at UVa, but there's no team I enjoy watching less.

I like contrasting styles though you can find in college hoops and I think there is less of that now cuz it's hard to maintain "a system" with the portal, etc....which is part of why the zone was so much fun at times. In spite of that, they're horrible to watch some years.

In spite of that, they're horrible to watch some years. Is it just because it was my childhood and I paid way more attention, or was the 90s the peak for “contrasting styles”? UNC had their style with Dean. Syracuse had theirs. Arkansas with Richardson. Kentucky with Pitino. Temple with Chaney. Georgetown with Thompson. Princeton! Teams with long time coaches and roster continuity - they had their own brands, far more than now it seems?

Sounds like Hopkins will not be back at Washington after this year.
Get him back on staff as an assistant!

Since no one, predictably, talking about it elsewhere...not sure if everyone saw.
After playing a lights out game on offense and hitting a big shot up to put them up 4, 5th year player was completely burned on D and then tried to play PG and lost the game for Clemson.
Link is queued up.

Virginia Tech beat Virginia by 35.
I still think we probably beat them at the Dome?
Given our performance all year, I wouldn’t be surprised if we win our 2 remaining home games and lose all 3 road games. Our emotional guys seem to really spaz out on the road.

theathletic.com/5284673/2024/02/18/rick-pitino-st-johns-facilities-players/?source=user_shared_article“Look: Joel [Soriano]’s slow laterally, he’s not fast on the court,” Pitino said. “Chris Ludlum is slow laterally, Sean Conway’s slow laterally. Brady [Dunlap]’s physically weak, Drissa [Traore] is slow laterally.” Pitino said that the team “lost this season the way we recruited.” He said that the players don’t align with how he coaches. “We recruited the antithesis of the way I coach, with speed, quickness, fundamentals, strength and toughness,” Pitino said. “It’s a good group, they try hard, but they’re just not very tough.”” Uh wait WHO recruited these guys?
