$400? For real? I don't know why, but that shocks me. I’m guessing it’s a perfect storm of: - one of LeBron’s last games in NY. - Lakers - big name opponent that comes once a year and has its own fans everywhere who will overpay for tickets. - Knicks playing really well for the first time in a long time. - Saturday night game. I’d honestly pay $200 or so. But $400? I think I paid $250 for Nas tickets that were good seats at the Garden last year - and I’ve posted about this before but for a concert like that you know he’s going to do all the songs you love and put on a hell of a show. A game? Who knows? You could $400 and see an all time great game, or you could see a blowout that’s over by half time and multiple stars sit out. Who knows? I need to know it’s going to be great if I’m paying $400 for the “worst” seats. Are LBJ and AD even going to play?

Hilarious we beat the Celtics in Boston without them though - but yeah, if im paying that much money I need to know the stars are playing.

The Celtics should have figured out a way to win that game, but seven free throw attempts for the Celtics and only eight fouls called against the Lakers is just as much of a joke.

I’ll ask you the same question I asked Fireball on the other board: When was the last time an NBA team was called for 8 fouls (or less) in a game?

Just got a thought to go see the Lakers play the Knicks at MSG….cheapest tickets on stubhub are 400+. No thanks. $400? For real? I don't know why, but that shocks me. Lakers-Nets in late March, there’s plenty of tickets to be had for under $200. $170 or so is still a lot, but I’d suck it up and pay that. Not sure how much the timing plays in too. Maybe I looked at the Knicks tickets when they were at their peak, because it was a day or 2 before the game? Of course, going to Brooklyn I’ll need to get a hotel for after the game, where MSG there’s a good chance I could’ve just gotten on the train and headed back to Albany after the game(I’ve done that before, I assume there’s still a night train trip available) - so the price ends up being the same for me anyway.

Good on you for the doing the math in advance I often catch myself realizing too late that if I factored in the extra costs...I'd have been better just going with my first "expensive" option. Looooook at me, I saved money by driving! Oh, shit..........forgot it's not just the rental car cost, it's the tolls, gas, etc. too.

Today I realized the Lakers are the St. Louis Cardinals of basketball. The overhyping of acquisitions, sitting pat when they obviously need to make a move, holding onto problematic players for way too long, spending less than they should/could…it’s all out of the John Mozeliak playbook. Both teams should be sold.
Sticking with D’Angelo Russell is 100% on brand.

The Sixers have to fire Morey after the season. There’s nothing wrong with the Hield trade…except Morey could have made the same deal before the season as part of the Harden package. He’s petty and his priorities are out of whack.
I’m also amused that Marcus Morris couldn’t hang on with his hometown team.

Yes, I’m reposting my takes from the other board, because I don’t want to leave out DW, HOF, and Alsacs.

Yes, I’m reposting my takes from the other board, because I don’t want to leave out DW, HOF, and Alsacs. The Sixers were insane. They cleared every contract except Embiid and Maxey. I get the Hield trade he would be a good fit if Embiid was healthy. Trading defensive players to their biggest conference rivals makes no sense. I don’t get the Pat Bev trade. Sixers are making the playoffs and he is perfect role player for the playoffs. The Springer trade I don’t get. He gives the Celtics insurance if Holiday gets hurt. He is defensive guy and was a former first round pick who is cheap. Morey must have confidence he is keeping his job as these moves were basically punting this season. I like the Mavs pickup of PJ Washington. He can help this year. The Raptors-Jazz trade made so sense for me except the Raptors must love acquiring Canadian players. Which makes some sense but not for that price. Knicks made good move. Detroit is just a stupid franchise.

Interesting to watch the race out West. I can’t fathom the Warriors and Lakers in the 9-10 game.
I really don’t get how the Lakers are 10th with Anthony Davis being healthy and LeBron James generally being healthy.
The East looks like Boston-Milwaukee. I like the Celtics to win the east as long as Porzingis stays healthy. Porzingis health is the most important player for them to win a title. As his defense and rim protection is the biggest change from last year. I love Marcus Smart but his trade opened up usage for Derrick White to do more and Jrue Holiday gives them everything Smart did without needing the shots Smart did.

This might be a hot take but seems like sixers are pinning all their hopes on an oft injured big man in 2024 seems like a mistake.

I don't mind the ship. The pics of the uniforms look awful - the script, etc...imo.
