It was sort of wild watching the highlights of the Duke game after the Cuse game ended.
Three over Girard! Three over Gurard! Drive past Girard!
It was less Girard focused after that.

You know who hasn’t tried to go after the refs after a game? JJ Starling. Joe Girard has swiped at his coach and tried to go after the ref in the last month. What a thug.

Starling averaging 14 ppg on 49% shooting and 39% from 3 in conference play.
His improvement is one of the few positives I can find this week. Hope he keeps it up and finishes the season strong, and explodes next year!

Hope he keeps it up and finishes the season strong, and explodes next year! His offense has been great since conference plays started. Unfortunately on the other end he’s worse than Jimmy Boeheim was here or Chris Bell the last two seasons. It’s like he’s afraid of contact and the ball.

Yeah, I don’t understand it because he’s got the athletic ability, height, frame, to at least be a decent defender.

I don't understand him constantly ducking under screens. He's literally a wide open 3 for any he guards that can shoot. Unfortunately, since I'm not seeing Red strangle him him yet, I'm still not 100% that isn't the instruction. This will be a great game to find out.

If he’s avoiding contact, maybe he’s still worried about the shoulder?

JJ is a stud.
I’m starting to get Waiters/Devendorf vibes from him - he can get his shot anytime and score in every which way.

JJ’s turnaround mid range jumper >>>>>> Joe’s
And he doesn’t need 7 struggle back down dribbles and belly jiggles to get it off. Just a normal post up and smooth turnaround, and it’s a bucket.
