Despite announcing that he's trimmed his list down to nine teams (which include Florida State, Nevada, Boise State, New Mexico, Kansas State, Texas A&M, Texas Tech and Washington State) could we get in on his recruitment late? Illinois just offered him 5 days ago. Why not us?
He's ranked #132. He's an athletic big, a shot blocker, and seems like he'd fit our system. If he's open to leaving the west coast, we match up fairly well against those other offers. Just trying to think outside the box if Wahab doesn't pan out and Carrigan doesn't have the grades. Any red flags, or reasons not to try?

Good find but don't think he's an option as Wahab is #1 priority and pretty sure Carrigan is #2. Also hard to get a West Coast kid to come this far east .

I'm just concerned that Wahab isn't trending our way. And unless we know for sure that Carrigan is going to qualify academically, shouldn't we at least be considering getting involved with someone else? It seems pretty risky, especially when there are guys that are yet to commit? We currently have a top 20 class. I'd think that'd be enticing. Plus we're not involved in the FBI scandal.

And Illinois just offered him... unless it was a bag π°, he could've possibly been Orange if we'd offered.

Honestly think we strike out on akok stew and wahab. Akok does kind of bother me but it is what is at this point. We have struggled with bigs so I didnt expect much. Many on the "other" board use to think we were a for sure with AA but literally since his visit it hasnt looked even remotely good for us yet theres still some on there that keep holding out for a miracle. I have to keep telling myself we have a great class without them and that Quincy is going to be a monster for us...and I truly believe that he will. Would of been real nice tho to set the recruting world on fire now that we are off sanctions etc.

That "other" board would be eating some serious crow if I was still on it. I was told emphatically that we'd land not one but two bigs (one better than JBA). Many on that "other" board guaranteed Akok too. I followed the rules on that "other" board. I got booted off because I spoke the truth, and wouldn't be bullied into submission.
Please don't mistake my animosity for thinking we don't have a good class. The players we got are a great foundation. In fact, I'm really really high on Quincy and Goodine. I also think JG3 and JBA will be very solid players by their junior years... great program guys. But we have an issue closing on elite big men. For this reason, we should be involved with more big men, guys like Antwan January (and others) should be offered. He may have been a west coast kid but he just committed to Illinois after a very late offer! Nuff' said. Let's Go Orange!!!!! πππππ
