coach.
Jay Wright - great recruiter and his track record at Nova speaks volumes.
Nate Oats - Buffalo coach - if he can win at Buffalo with the talent he has imagine what he could do at SU.
Adrian Autry - pretty decent recruiter and don't believe he would run the same stuff JB does. If that were the case he's off my list. Good relationship with players.
Might need to add others but right now that would be my list and oh btw no way I hire GMac.

Nate Oats can coach. I like him. Perhaps a bit of a meathead but I love his confidence and the style they play.
Unfortunately Chris Mack is probably going to be at Louisville for awhile. Heโs already doing well and they will beat us no problem. Really like him and liked him at Xavier. They have a couple of bigs on that team I would kill for. Not even โstudsโ per se.
Yeah only Autry if he runs a different system. I think I prefer a non-SU guy. I have my reservations about all the assistants actually in terms of how much detail work they put into fundamentals.
I like Matt Painter at Purdue a lot also. He might be more of a Midwest guy though but he can coach for sure.

Just throwing out names that you guys didn't (in no particular order):
1. Mike Hopkins- not likely, but no explanation needed
2. Nick McDevitt -Middle Tennessee State/ former UNC Asheville- guy can coach
3. Greg Marshall - Wichita St - unlikely but good
4. Will Wade -LSU - excellent candidate, and young, won't need to worry about retirement for a long time
I like Oats too. I'd consider him.
I'm inclined to say Wade will replace Roy Williams, or even Coach K. Wish we'd snag him first. Maybe even look at the Bonnie's coach Schmidt, or Amaker at Harvard.

Good ones. I like Wade and Amaker. The homers on the other board donโt like Marshall but I do. No nonsense and he would drill fundamentals and instill toughess.
I was high on Mike White a few years ago but Florida has struggled this year and last and donโt know why.
Really like Keatts at NC St. Theyโll beat us again too.

Forgot about Keatts... interesting candidate. As for Deano's suggestion of Jay Wright...He'd be a hell of a catch, but he's got something special going at Nova. I just can't see him leaving that. I also prefer a guy outside SU, unless Hopkins could be lured back. We need a fresh slate to ignite some life back into the program.

Also, leaving Philly for central NY? Uh, no. Yeah Keatts plays that Pitino style obviously. They really harassed Frank last year and killed us with dribble penetration.

The bigger question is if we miss the tournament this year, would Wildhack and Syracuse University really consider terminating Jim Boeheim early? How much longer can this go on before it tanks the SU brand? Is there a way to do this so that JB keeps his dignity?
Say what you will about JB, but he's a sensitive man. I hope the situation gets handled gently... BUT does get handled sooner than later. We all knew this wasn't going to be easy. He's a brilliant coach, whose time is up.

Yeah hard to say. At some point you have to cut ties with the whole loyalty to SU and make a serious decision to remove a guy like JB. I hope Wildhack is neutral enough to do this and not another Lynn Swann-type who had no experience in being an AD. For the record, nobody is as bad as Swann. I sure hope he has the right gauge on the pulse of the program...no juice. It doesnโt take an idiot to see that for awhile now the players show poor body language, start games sluggish, look unprepared, and seem like without a clue of what to do on offense. Or else itโs just so simplistic and freewheeling that, in their eyes, all they need to do is make shots. Uh, no.

If I was Wildhack I think I'd probably be inclined to offer some sort of silent (non-public) buyout in exchange for JB's early retirement. That way JB gets to have the appearance that he went out on his own terms, and SU can move on sooner than later. It leaves JB's integrity intact, and allows SU to move forward before further damage is done to the SU brand.
Of course, if JB refuses, he may have to ultimatum him. Go out with dignified retirement OR you can go out as the best HOF coach to ever get canned. Then you pray, JB comes to his senses, and agrees to retire with an undisclosed financial buyout.
