A friend of mine had the opportunity to get a peek at a few prospects at the Basketball Without Borders event in Charlotte a couple of weeks ago. I hold his opinion in high regard, and he came away impressed with this young man. He's 6'2" but he's long and with a good wingspan. He'd be fine at the top of the zone. He described him as fast, with a good basketball IQ, and a pass first guard with blow by ability. Says he's a very good athlete, shot is adequate, but not a sharpshooter (though mechanics looked decent). He said he came away impressed with his motor, and intelligence. He also said he was one of the more impressive guys there not signed to a professional contract. I did some digging, and apparently Butler is his only offer so far, but I suspect this will change. Apparently he's interested in Boston College, so he's ok with the northeast and is looking to play in ACC caliber competition. Given our difficulties recruiting the point guard and center position I'd be taking a look at this kid. I trust my source that this kid can play, and works really hard. This guy is going to blow up. He's going to get legit offers. 247sports.com/Player/Santiago-Vescovi-46081435/(In Spanish -I can't understand but maybe somebody else does?)

He's not tall enough for a zone fit

He's not tall enough for a zone fit He's taller than Flynn, and he's better than Frank and Howard Washington combined. He's also a pure point guard.
