For a good laugh. JB ain't benching his kid if EH would be moved to the backcourt unless Mike things EH is going to run PG.
A few things I did like is HW as the backup PG but good luck with that. Also start Quincy and Bras needs more time, however again JB isn't that smart to make all these moves and will ride the current line-up into the ground along with the season.

I‘m not sure how you fix it. It’s probably not in JBs comfort zone to be trying to outscheme teams either. That comment about “we’ve added more movement than we ever have” in the Iowa presser was really alarming to hear. When you do something for so long it is hard to change. Now, I already know this and can see it all with my two eyes but we’re starting to get some answers now.
Then again, like I mentioned, not sure how much Tony Bennett or even a rebounding guru like Izzo could help this squad. They seem woefully overmatched. Combined with JBs having to get out of his comfort zone (meaning...just go make a play guys) and draw up better and more meticulous offense; this is what we get. Maybe some pick n pop with Guerrier or Marek. I don’t know. You can’t run PNR with Buddy, Too slow. Our bigs can’t screen well and we really don’t run them properly anyways. Marek or Sidibe either slip the screen prematurely, the guards take bad angles, and/or no contact even being made so the defender simply runs by the screen, lol! This has been a problem for years. To make matters worse, as we know, rarely does anybody pay attention to the roller so the ballhandler gets blitzed. Now, good PGs and guards with speed can overcome this by splitting a trap, blasting around a hedger, or QUICKLY reversing the ball but we don’t have the ability to do any of this. Man, Frank was a big culprit in all of this last season and beyond. Too often also he wasn’t able to get by his guy. He’d have to summon poor Chukwu to come back to him way out behind the 3pt line to bail him out but then that whole disaster of the aforementioned screening issue(s) would occur. Then the picking up the dribble, discombobulation 25 ft out, rinse ‘n repeat. Ugh!!

Changes can be made sure. I certainly like the idea of bringing Hughes to the 2, and starting QG down low. Wouldn't solve everything but would help. Not holding my breath for JB to take Buddy out of the lineup either.
But the biggest issue is we just simply lack talent. Crazy to think about we really only have one consensus top 50 kid, and its Jalen Carey.

He actually basically admitted they aren’t good enough talent-wise combined with not enough execution. He inferred that basically to win games they have to make enough shots to get an upset.

That's such BS and of course he takes no blame. He's the one that recruited these guys!

Think of all these misses and bad luck since 2014.
Kaleb Joseph- Consensus Top 50. A bust and transferred. Hop actually deserves the blame for that one. He handpicked him and presented him to JB.
McCullough- Consensus back end Top 25. We hardly knew him. Injury and left. A miss.
Malachi- Consensus Top 35. Short stay. Had an OK frosh year then went berserk again UVA. See ya.
Moyer- Consensus Top 75. Bust. Moved on.
Carey- Consensus Top 50. Bust. He’s gonna move on like Kaleb.
Taurean Thompson- Consensus Top 75. Bust. Moved on. His lack of defense would have kept him off the floor here and what is the major problem with him at Seton Hall.
So with every Lydon and Tyus you sort of got value out of and maximized you have all these other issues. And Frank. Don’t get me started. JB KNEW Frank wasn’t going to be able to cut it at PG. That is why he recruited Quade Green. He absolutely was trying to recruit over Frank or at least move Frank to the 2. No way in hell did Boeheim not promise a McDAA like Quade the keys to the bus. Now, perhaps Quade struggles at SU like he did at UK but there is no way the staff was satisfied with the prognosis of Frank at PG. He was probably the most prioritized recruit and one we spent the most time on in quite some time. And of course Frank wasn’t having it with bullying Quade and another recruit on their recruiting visits. Then, JB waits too long to switch to Gillon in that NIT year! Frank was a major problem and factor with how our pace and tempo plummeted since he just couldn’t get out and run with that shaky handle and lack of speed. Ugh! It’s time, JB.

Sadly, as you guys have eluded to, this isn’t fixable. These players aren’t going to gain 30 pounds overnight. Buddy isn’t magically going to develop foot speed. Dolejaz isn’t going to take care of his body/develop... he’s a smoker for God’s sake. Sidibe... don’t even get me started.
We just don’t have enough talent. Period.

We were barely watchable with the guys we had the past few years. Now we are getting back end Top 100 guys and sub-100 guys and trying to play ISO ball. I didn’t even get into the players we could have had. Monte Morris, Tremont Waters, Jalen Brunson, etc. Sad.

Quade comes to SU if Hop was still around. GMac needs to be replaced as lead recruiter and Red needs to move in that position, however JB is blind just like his coaching these last few years.
