I am in no way insider. Just an avid (and I like to think Knowledgeable fan). Curious where you think JJ is going. Again I have zero idea but it seems to be very close to the chest and trending in a decent way for us. Would say Duke or ND/Stanford at this point. Think it's going to come down to playing time. Duke has some folks that will be back next year so that's why there is a chance it could be ND or Stanford.

I think it’s looking good for Brown and Bunch. If we get those two guys along with QC, JT, and PC that’s a much better class than I thought we’d land. The staff have done a better job this class.

If he doesnt want to be close to home I get, but playing time makes no sense. If he comes here hes slated in as the starting 2 guard on day one. The Joe G logjam I dont see because he will be the 1 and it is very clear Quadir is the PG in the class. So if anything he comes off the bench his frosh year.
If it is going to come down to playing time solely then Duke would not even be in the equation. (I do get it is still Duke kids get blinded). Again not an insider, just not sure I see the rationale of not choosing us if PT and being the GUY in the his recruiting class is the main priority.

Justin Taylor is supposed to be the #2 guard a year from now. That's what the staff told him so we will see if that happens or not. He may now play both SG and SF since the debacle recruitment by GMac of Lands.

Yes but as you just alluded to without Lands it opens up a spot for JJ to be the 2. Not really expecting him to come to Syracuse just not sure the PT logic makes sense.
In regards to G Mac he is responsible for our two current highest rated recruits. He has certainly had his growing pains but in my opinion seems to be on the up.

You have open gyms all over NJ right now. Some major talent there. Scheyer has shown up. Hubert Davis. Self. Oats. JB is nowhere to be found. The assistants can only do so much and I don’t even fault them anymore. Paraphrasing what was said on a certain pod…JB can expect to get a Bunch/Brown/Copeland class without putting in work. He can still get those and those kids will come to Syracuse. We won’t bottom out and should stay around the Bubble. But if he expects to still coach and end on a high note with aspirations of deep Tourney runs then these classes aren’t going to cut it. He needs to be out there and connecting with the better players sooner.

Unfortunately that is just no going to happen I do not think. And I do not even think it is the traveling part and him showing up in gyms. He did that this Summer because he can fly in, watch the game, and fly out in 3 hours. I think it is the constant communication that a lot of these younger coaches can offer. Text, DM, facetime, etc.
The positive I will take from this is that if Gmac is next in line which it feels like he may be, at least he has shown the ability to connect with kids and land his targets more recently. If we land Bunch it is still probably a top 10-15 class just on sheer volume, and hopefully we can supplement with the portal. JB has talked about feeling good and wanting to coach but I have to think it is a different scenario when all of a sudden his son is no longer the star player and on team. (Not to mention having both there now). I am a JB fan and think it would of course be an instant downgrade in regards to in game coaching, but it probably will improve recruiting ASAP.

I think a Top 15 class at best. We’ll see. A far cry though from what they expected and I’m not even counting Lands or Dior. The Lands commitment came out of nowhere as they didn’t devote any resources to him pretty much. Dior I won’t even get into.
I don’t think JBs in game coaching is something to be revered or overly praised. He’s been getting out-coached in many games the past few seasons as well, IMO. We‘re extremely predictable and stale. We don’t dictate any sort of Tempo. We don’t run a lot of good stuff, make a defense work hard, reverse the ball enough to the other side of the floor, etc. I think the Zone gets us some wins by default because there are just too many teams not used to playing against it. I think he’s very good at playing the right guys to get Ws (minus the Kadary situation). They might be gassed and worn out later in the season but he generally plays the right guys and puts them in good situations to make plays. Unfortunately the talent hasn’t been good enough and it starts at the top. The program will be fine with the right hire. I just pray it isn’t an internal hire.

I like Peter as a developmental big. Wish we could get an elite center, but then again the top guys don’t want to take a year to learn the zone. Peter has great hops and a is a tuff dude… hard nosed. Let’s see how he develops.
