A very impressive road win without much of a contribution from Buddy. Jesse has been tremendous. Hard to believe that this team lost to Colgate??? We played well, but man we struggle closing out games against ball pressure.

Huge win. Knew FSU’s athleticism would bother our offense.
Didn’t know we’d be able to stop them/they’d shoot that horribly.
Some big shots from Cole in the second half. Hoping this is a game he really grows from. Confidence booster.
Jesse - so nice to have a good legit center again.
Joe is shooting the lights out when he’s open and spotting up. Hoping Symir can keep progressing to where he can give us a solid 25 mpg and get Joe off the ball.
Hoping after Nova and GTown we can get some easier games and Benny can get some hoops and gain some confidence. These wars just aren’t the time for a raw freshman like that.
Where would we be without Jimmy?
5-3 isnt all that surprising either way, but how we got here is. If you told me 5-3 start I would’ve assumed wins against Colgate and VCU and losses to Indiana and FSU.
Hoping we can surprise against Nova, but either way we need to handle the Hoyas.

Glad we won but FSU had a TON of wide open 3s that bricked. That's why we lost to Colgate. They made those looks

Glad we won but FSU had a TON of wide open 3s that bricked. That's why we lost to Colgate. They made those looks FSU is not a good shooting team, so part of our game plan was likely to take away any inside baskets and let them fire away. Though there are clearly still issues with covering the corner 3.

Glad we won but FSU had a TON of wide open 3s that bricked. That's why we lost to Colgate. They made those looks And yet FSU is a much better team than Colgate. Team has serious flaws for sure but we beat a good likely tourney team on the road. I get lambasting the other board because they think every win is the precursor to a final 4, but at the same time we can acknowledge a good win as just that. We also on our end missed TONS of open looks. We made some great adjustments defensively and came out with a gritty win. Nova will be obviously even tougher. Same type of pressure D although less physicality but with more refined offense. Even with a loss there hopefully we close out the rest of the non conference with no hiccups and go into ACC play where outside of Duke and MAYBE Carolina I think every game is one we should expect to be a good game with tons of win opportunities. If at the end of the year we are in the tourney, we will look at this week (IU and FSU wins) as the season saver imo.

Need VCU and Colgate not to end up as “bad losses”. ACC looks very mediocre. We are a very flawed team - but who in the league isn’t? I think this is the kind of team that when they look bad - they look BAD, and people (myself included) can overreact. Winning at FSU against an athletic team is a nice win.

Happy to get the win but I thought FSU was horrendous. I can see how Florida handled them and Purdue crushed them.
I think it has caught up to Hamilton all the lottery picks he has lost prematurely over the past few years cumulatively. They weren’t the uber athletic teams of the past and without the trees in the paint. Let’s hope for our sake that they don’t fall too far down the quadrant trough.
I thought they locked us up pretty well and this is a meh FSU team at best. We stagnated big time and all the ISO was comical. If FSU had any offensive prowess they would’ve smoked us. One could say Joe’s crazy pull up 35-footer stagnating that went in and their ineptness on offense saved us. They just hesitated too much as a team facing Zone with a ton of new players and weren’t the FSU type of teams in the past.
Still, props for the team for not folding when they get down. They can make shots and tough shots. It’s a tough watch frankly for me but it is what it is. Many possessions seemed like a root canal us trying to ISO too much, handle the ball too much, etc. But, teams let their guard down and Buddy/Joe take some horrendous shots in no offensive flow. They can make those. I think it’s horrible basketball at times but it’s the only way they can win often.
