Sadly waking up to see babers is still not fired. Maybe after next Friday that will happen. Also wild to see how many people defend GS for being bad yet those same people eviscerated devito on a daily basis and allowed no excuses. All cause GS has that southern twang I guess

What’s to discuss? We suck, Babers can’t coach, and it’s 2022 all over again. Sad.

Here’s what I believe, without evidence: 1. Syracuse football will never contend in the ACC, much less for the national championship. 2. Syracuse football will be left out when the elite college football tier is created. 3. Football as a sport is unsustainable. 4. A shift to flag or two-hand touch (or something else) is inevitable. 5. Streaming services will cause a shift in the ad-based revenue model.
Whether Syracuse football is dead today, tomorrow, or in a decade, it is dead. I’m not sure if being proactive is in the best interest of the school and the other athletic programs. We can certainly wait and see what happens and react. Personally, I’m rooting for the ACC to fail. Then we can go back to the Big East and look into options for the Olympic sports if necessary.
Going all in on basketball is our future.

It really blows my mind people are so shell shocked that they are still saying things like “if we win out then he will be resigned. What have these people seen in the last 4-5 weeks to make them think we can win the next 4?

What have these people seen in the last 4-5 weeks to make them think we can win the next 4? Even if we do - who really cares? 6-6 and being a team that is dangerous and tough to play and capable of pulling an upset or at least putting a scare into good teams is fine. 6-6 and losing by 40 points against anybody good is no fun and a waste of time. I just want to watch and root for a competitive team. This is supposed to be fun. If half the games aren’t worth watching and are 100% over by the end of the first quarter - nah. We don’t even compete or try.

They completely missed an opportunity to merge with what was left of the PAC-12 after USC/UCLA left. Could have had a super conference with divisions on each coast. No logistical nightmares. Would have been the end of the Big 12, too.

KU and NC state pulled off upsets but when we play anyone moderately talented we get our dicks kicked in.

I said this last year. Syracuse football is on life support because our administration isn’t invested in football all-in. The facilities were allowed to become complete garbage before we invested and then when facilities don’t matter as much as NIl we are again slow to the bill. Syracuse football’s problem has been talent. We don’t recruit well and because our coaches are actually bad at coaching and developing what we have we our beaten by superior opponents. Schemes and game plans matter in football we never have good gameplans or schemes it’s the same shit each week. It beats inferior talent and loses to superior talent. Marrone could gameplan and scheme but couldn’t recruit because we were cheap with facilities when those matter. Our program sucks because the administration just wants to cash checks. Wildhack is a stooge who wants to cash checks and tell locals and alums you are going to eat the shit sandwiches we serve or if you don’t then we don’t care. Our program is going to get relegated because of administration being half assed and just wanting paychecks. Babers should have been gone after year 6 but we are cheap. Again I don’t think he gets fired this year unless we go 5-7. Wildhack follows his orders he will talk to the people he gets along with think the Bayside type of posters who just want to have an AD they like and will spin for when the program needs to stop thinking alums only as coaches and realizes our program can be a stepping stone for a good coach. We want to win the administration just wants checks. I gave up season tickets and donation to the AD and honestly don’t even want to give academics anymore the school takes fans for granted and doesn’t return the support. Fans deserve better. I don’t care about getting my free courtside seats or sitting in JB’s football suite. Fans deserve an administration and specifically an AD to stop the bullshit spin and thinking fans are dumb. Wildhack talks in the press like a snake oil salesman. No sincerity, no passion just corporate bullshit.

Also the idea this program is going to need money to be able to get rid of Babers is crazy.
The program has been cashing 30 million+ checks from the ACC for a decade after making between 5-8 million a year from the Big East.
The program aka the school/administration has funds. The expenses of being in the ACC and increases in expenses is not a net negative. The AD has raised funds as well.
The program has the money to make a move. It’s the AD/administration that just wants to do as little as possible while making as much as they can. It’s just terrible this doesn’t get called out but the media needs the school/access so they can’t be hard and then aholes like Brent Axe was a jerk but atleast had a spine somewhat got fired because Daddy Ball wanted revenge for the tough coverage he got.
