I definitely think Bama and Oats, as well as UConn and Hurley are more than capable of cheating. I hope we land one of the Jacksons because it won’t look too good if we whiff after making Dre our top priority all season. Fingers crossed.

I might have to take back everything I said about being a longshot here...I guess we are in a really good spot with Isaiah. Man landing him would be a game changer! Fingers crossed. I really hope you’re right. Isaiah might be an even better target for SU to land than Andre. He’s a legitimate five star guy, and he’d be a real difference maker for JB and co. As for the cheating, I definitely think it’s possible for Oats at Bama to be dirty. Alabama has tons of money and their last coach was corrupt. I trust Hurley about as far as I can throw him too. UConn has NOTHING to offer an elite player except money. They play in a shitty conference, and don’t get anywhere near the tv exposure they used to get. They’ve been largely irrelevant since Ollie’s first year. They can definitely be cheating in my opinion. As for what Jazz said, I sort of agree. I don’t want JB to be ousted because he’s a legend. But if the other teams are beating him in the recruiting game today (off sanctions) and money isn’t the reason, then it’s far more concerning than I thought. As far as the image of the program... that doesn’t get fixed overnight or without real talent. Let’s just put it this way, we NEED to land Isaiah.

The image of the program won’t change until A) things turn around and we start putting together a couple fully successful seasons in a row or B) when JB is gone.

Releasing a top 3 tomorrow. I think everyone already knows what 3 schools that is. Bama, Kentucky and Syracuse... though I think it’s really between SU and Bama, with Bama in the lead.

He took an official visit to Kentucky on August 31. Then this past weekend, he visited Syracuse.
“It was awesome,” Wesley Jackson, Isaiah’s father, said of Syracuse. “No egos. Academic aspect is very supportive to athletes. Coaches, trainers and managers are on their job. Very professional. The athletes are very respectful and well-mannered young men. The living area is new and great. “Coach [Jim] Boeheim and his wife are amazing people. I understood the greatness I was next to and took the opportunity to talk to him and pick his brain whenever I could. His wife is one of the most genuine and beautiful people I have ever met in my life. I can say I see why he has had such longevity in the game. She deserves something from the NCAA along with coach. The organization has a family environment. The offense and defense he runs are strong. He allows his assistants to train and develop his players in practice. I even met Tiana M from the women’s basketball team and her parents. It was a blessing to meet a strong young person like that. That was the most amazing part of the visit for me. She showed me how ‘family’ Syracuse really is.”

Wow, let’s hope Zags take is accurate and Isaiah’s father Wesley was impressed enough with Syracuse to influence Isaiah.

t had been looking like things were coming down to Alabama, Kentucky and Syracuse for five-star senior Isaiah Jackson.
On Monday, he made it official announcing those three as his finalists. This is on the heels of a weekend official visit to see Jim Boeheim and the Orange. He has also been to Kentucky and is scheduled to see Alabama at the end of October.
When it comes to long-term potential in comparison to ranking, Jackson has as much upside as any player in America. He’s a shot-blocking machine, a freak athlete, can run and has a great motor. He lacks strength and is still in need of more offensive polish and the way I see it, he’s still trying to make up for a junior year that was essentially wasted. Jackson played plenty hard and put in effort, but playing at Spire Institute with LaMelo Ball in a circus like atmosphere everywhere they went, Jackson was never given responsibility other than to run and catch lobs. He excelled in that role, but he has way more to offer.
So where do I see him landing? As of today, I’ll go ahead and give the edge to Kentucky over Alabama in a tight battle. The Wildcats are looking for a big class and he would certainly fit. Of course, he’d be really good anywhere across the bottom of Syracuse’s 2-3 zone and Nate Oats should bring a free-wheeling, up-and-down, style that Jackson’s speed from rim to rim could be very well utilized in.

I read on another board that someone claims on good authority that Dre has already eliminated Bama, and that it’s between Kentucky and SU. Might be a completely bogus claim. My two cents... If Isaiah isn’t bothered by the commitment of Lance Ware, and he needs a bag, he’ll go to Kentucky. That said, I hope this is all wrong, and that Isaiah really commits to Syracuse.

I don’t put too much stock into what I read on other boards, but I agree that we should never underestimate PayPal Cal @ Kentucky.

Keep in mind that Kentucky has already gotten a commitment from Lance Ware and they’re the favorites to land a different Isaiah... 6’10” Isaiah Todd, and maybe even Cliff Omoruyi. I suspect Red will remind him of this.
