The thing is the money they will pay makes the increase from the B10 a wash. They’ll end up making about the same every year once you take the exit fees out and they’ll be up against tougher competition It’s stability. Being in the Big Ten or SEC is security. Syracuse cashed checks for a decade instead of being serious. We spent the least on the Dome renovation, we played home games at MetLife for paychecks, we kept Greg Robinson an extra year, we hired Scott Shafer for cheap. Syracuse needs to win fast as this Florida State move will cause a chain reaction. North Carolina is safe and they can choose 1 partner pretty much wherever they want. Other ACC schools have plus and negatives. Like outside of Wake Forest and Boston College we might be the lowest school because we sat on mediocrity way too long. Boeheim did damage to basketball letting become this after thought nationally. We haven’t been ranked during conference play is a f#cking decade 2014. Football had moments but any serious school fires Dino after 2021 Covid 1-10 year. We kept him and barely got rid of him this year. We need to be serious if we want to be one of the schools in the end game or enjoy being a mid major which is what a lot of other schools do. There it is…finding another way to blame Boeheim. Basketball has no bearing on realignment. It’s all about football. You know that. Otherwise, Kansas would already be in the SEC or Big 10. That’s part of why Wildhack went with Red instead of a national search. He went all in on football and the strategy just might work.

Blame the other board’s nobody can bitch about Boeheim because it will hurt her feelings to read for why I get hot about Boeheim. Instead of letting legitimate debate happen we had a Soviet style board which restricted legitimate problems. Jim Boeheim did a lot of good for Syracuse basketball he also did a lot of damage at the end which is being overcome. You also know Boeheim was loudly against the ACC move in 2003 and while the VA Governor now Senator ended up stopping UVA from adding us your guy Boeheim went on ESPN OTL nightly and publicly said he didn’t want to go which countered the same day the ACC officials were touring the SU campus which I know first hand because I was working work study at the law school that day when I saw the contingent at the Dome touring. He didn’t cause us not to go in 2003 but his comments didn’t help. He only acquiesced in 2010 because he knew the damage that been done to our football team from 05 to 10 and knew we needed a future. Boeheim did damage his last 5 years here. We are on the board so I will say. He undermined Mike Hopkins a year before he was going to take over. There was a PG who went to Miami that Hop wanted to pursue because he was supposedly taking over when Hop was recruiting that year for the following year Boeheim wasn’t helping. That was the year Buddy was going to Be a freshman. We only brought in Carey as a guard and Hop didn’t want that but he wasn’t HC. Boeheim wasn’t making the transition easy for Hop so Hop left. Also Somebody else on here if they want to can confirm when Hop left then Lydon was 100% gone. Lydon wasn’t a big JB guy he was a Hop guy. Lydon and Gillon didn’t get a long and good ole JB did nothing to help with the problems it was left to Hop. Again Jim Boeheim’s ego divided our fanbase. We can be appreciative of all he did while not pretending to be like Penn State fans for JoePa. He should have left years ago but didn’t and our program suffered because of his hubris. Sorry I don’t worship the guy.

Jim Boeheim to me is like the quote from Harvey Dent in The Batman Dark Knight but change die to retire.
You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain.

No I read it all…I just don’t think Boeheim moved the needle one way or another. The ACC stopped at 11. They didn’t know they needed 12 because the ncaa denied them the waiver to do a CCG at 11 schools. The ACC added Boston College for the 12th spot because we didn’t want it as badly. Why do you think that? Basketball had more juice because of the NC. The play for football would have been to go all-in for that 12th spot which we didn’t. After we got denied July 1, 2003 just months after the NC we didn’t go all-in for the last ACC spot. Again I saw the ACC officials on our campus in May 2003. We were gone until Warner leveraged UVA but we still had a shot at being the 12th school but went tail between our legs back to the Big East and let BC get that last spot.

Sorry I don’t worship the guy. Like I said, has nothing to do with realignment. Sorry to tell you this basketball had an effect on realignment. It had no effect on the Big Ten or SEC. It had an effect on Syracuse. Syracuse basketball was bigger than Syracuse football especially in 2003. I don’t blame Boeheim for this he was loyal. He had a loyalty to the Big East. He grew it and was a big part of it becoming a national power. When Syracuse was looked at by the ACC it was led by Jake Crouthamel who was the ultimate company and loyal man as AD. He wanted stability for football. We would have gone to the ACC if offered. We didn’t get it because of Virginia Marc Warner. We did everything to go. ACC wanted us in part for our hoops because they were jealous of the Big East hoops getting the prime slot on espn during championship week. Jim Boeheim didn’t cost us the ACC slot but he didn’t want to go the ACC in 2003. I don’t blame him either again his reasoning was pro-basketball and comfort but the university didn’t fight for the ACC slot because of this mentality. If Boeheim had no problem going to the ACC at that time I bet we would have gotten that spot over Boston college because we would have wanted it and outworked them. Basketball doesn’t drive expansion for the big players but it was part of the ACC logic in expansion. I appreciate Boeheim but the other board’s Soviet primere defense of the guy turned me off on him and my complaints are just and laid out. They aren’t personal.

We wound up in the ACC anyway. The question now is whether or not we get into the SEC or Big 10. I agree with you on the 24x2 model. We have a chance there. And I assure you that James Arthur Boeheim will not factor into the equation. Not even a little bit.

King Otto is smacking Htown bigtime. Htown wants to pretend everything is going to be okay. He is a lawyer and should know better. When you have the law you cry stare decasis.
When you don’t have the law you cry due process or just yell no precedent.
Florida State is going to leave. You don’t want a partner that feels entrapped. Just make them pay what the contract says or leverage as much as you can. Florida State has little leverage so they won’t get a favorable deal but you don’t do what Htown wants everyone to think that everything is fine. KingOtto laid out correct. Oklahoma and Texas didn’t pay close to what the loudmouth commissioner from the Big XII said they would.
The Big XII got their contract from Fox and ESPN. Espn told Fox Oklahoma and Texas were leaving what do you want. They got Texas to play at Michigan next year so Fox could have the game and espn paid Fox 20 million dollars so Oklahoma and Texas could leave a year early.
They didn’t pay 100 million dollars. Florida State can leave they will just need to have Fox want them and be willingly to pay a lot more but the idea they can be forced to stay long term is just stupid.
Htown logic everything is fine the GOR will protect us. No stupid all they do is delay the inevitable. Which fine you want a few years but stop pretending everything will be okay when there is going to be pretty big change. Once FSU moves on other schools will as well it’s going to happen.

Our fanbase is stupid. Swofford screwed the ACC deal in 2010. It’s why the ACC is in a bad spot.
We as Syracuse fans have no business bitching at them. Florida State are babies for how they are behaving but their argument isn’t wrong.
We haven’t carried our weight in football or basketball and are a charity case.
The conference screwed up giving too much to ESPN for a short sided tv network.
ACC is held together by North Carolina. When UNC wants to move on the conference is done. Florida State just wants money and is pulling a baby move. They won’t be in the ACC fairly long. Question is do they go to the Big Ten, Big XII or independent.

What’s hilarious is they don’t realize that yet.
