For those that think it could be a disaster…..we played Frank Howard and Joe Girard at PG for multiple seasons. Nothing will phase me.
Copeland will be much better than both of them were at PG, regardless. Better handle, more explosive, better vision. That play against VT where he split the double team off the pick and roll? I don’t recall having PG’s who could do that since maybe MCW and Ennis.

All in. The Mike G comparison is pretty solid.

Frank Howard. I forget about him sometimes.
I feel like I rarely get players wrong - at least compared to most that at some point say something silly like "Benny is the next Melo!" Frank Howard was one dude I did think we would end up much better than he did. He really disappointed (me).

He’s another example of a guy who was in a roll that was just too big for what he brought to the table. Good defender. Not a good handle for a starting PG, and career shooting percentages of 36% from the field and 31% from 3. And he played…..38 mpg as a junior. Lmao. Down to 26 mpg as a senior, but the only reason he played less is he came into the year injured and had to work his way into shape, and also the coach’s kid needed minutes.

Also, cstate lumping in Kadary with other bad recent PG’s because he’s not a 3 point shooter, and that old idiot chuck replying with passive aggressive Boeheim shit…..
What a nauseating scene over there.
Cstate is a local Glens Falls Girard fanboy with a hurt feelings agenda over Kadary, and chuck is a trolling Boeheim fan - not a Syracuse fan.

Not to shit on him, but he did kind of cost us an NCAA game. Also, I’m just going to assume that at this point your phone AutoCorrect “role” to “roll.”.

I thought his potential as a Frosh was super high - but I was way wrong. Mostly because he seemed to have good vision, but that handle never developed to where it would need to be. He shot better than I expected. Overall, just a big letdown for me from what I thought he was going to do. He played 38 MPG? Dang.

I've staked my claim very early on that I'm a huge Copeland fan (when others were asking why he sees the court at all). I think he might be top 3 most exciting players on the hill in my lifetime. That said, he needs to really tighten that ball up to his hip when he goes back to the basket in the paint. Also take the easy layup when it's there, or just do his rim wrecking dunk, but have to make sure it's a bucket. Those would be my main concerns with him taking the reigns next season.
That said, him and Freeman might be able to fill the dome again, and that alone gives me goose bumps. I'll be taking multiple flights out there to be in that atmosphere again
