Any of you guys know anything about the city of Milwaukee? I got a job offer in Menomonee Falls Wisconsin which is a suburb of Milwaukee. I’ve never been, and know absolutely nothing about the place. I’m not really a cold weather person but it’s a good job and the cost of living is lower and the pay is higher. It’s tempting. Any experience and input you have to share about the city is welcome.

I have very little input that's worthwhile in the context of "living there."
However, I really enjoyed living in the Midwest generally. The pace is just slower - life seems easier somehow. That being said, I did have enough of it at some point and moved back to NY.
We went to Milwaukee a few times when the Yankees were in town and I always really liked the city and found people unusually friendly in a fun way. A lot of people are nice in the Midwest, but it's that fake nice, like you get in Canada. Milwaukee seemed like a pretty fun place - could have just been dumb luck - but I always thought it had the "feel" of a nice place to live.
That being said - sometimes places like that start to feel small after you move there. Sorry, not that helpful, but it's all I got on Milwaukee.

They tell you to have a blessed day, and give you the finger as you’re walking away. Nothing could possibly be phonier than Southern Hospitality. Milwaukee looks like a nice city in the videos I’ve watched and I love that it’s on Lake Michigan. Other than that it’s a crap shoot for me. And shit I hate cold weather. Appreciate the input brother. I’ll keep you guys posted. I’d have to switch my handle to JazzWI. lol 😂

I have nothing to offer on Milwaukee as I’ve never been there or anywhere else in that region either.
I lived in NC as a kid and spend a lot of time there as an adult visiting family and still have some close friends there too. I definitely know what you mean on the “fake nice”….but in my experience there is a lot of “legit nice” there too. Depends on where you are. My impression has always been: NC cities - friendlier than Upstate NY cities. Of course, many of those people moved there from somewhere else though. NC country areas and small towns - fake nice and a lot of them flat out dislike “Yankees”. Just my impressions from my time there.
Everytime I travel I tend to wish I didn’t have to come home, question why I live here, and notice how much friendlier people are(and how much prettier the women are) than in Upstate NY, basically everywhere I go.

Have a friend who grew up in a suburb of Milwaukee (Mequon, maybe?) and he loved it. Moved back there for a while after graduating from SU, but his wife was a New Yorker and wanted to be closer to her family, so they moved back east.
