About Jesse... I've said he has an undeniable and unique skill set which is evident in the limited tape we've had access to. He strikes me as more of a power forward than a center. My concerns about Jesse have more to do with the staff and lack of an adequate strength and conditioning program than with Jesse himself. If we had a beefy center to go along with him, I would have been a lot more enthusiastic about signing Jesse. We just sorely lack physicality, and JBA, Dolejaz, Edwards and Sidibe (if he can play and be effective) don't match up well against physical teams. Neither do our guards for that matter.
So I want to clarify my opinion of Jesse. He may or may not be a fantastic late sign by the staff. I sure don't know because I haven't seen him play. My concerns stem from lack of tape, and the fact that I'm not impressed at all by our ability to bulk up and develop centers in recent years. It also stems from the fact that Jesse strikes me as a very similar player to JBA; both are finesse guys who can shoot.
I'm also skeptical when I hear hype about last minute hidden gems because it seems we've been down this road before. This won't be a popular opinion but athletically Dolejaz doesn't belong in an ACC uniform but he gets by because he is a more cerebral player. I'm not sold Braswell will amount to much, and I'm really tired of the staff defending the likes of Chukwu and Sidibe. I come by my skepticism honestly.
That said, if Jesse pans out I'll be very happy.

He has some skill for sure. Pretty fluid. No way in hell he is up to 220 either like some homers are saying. He’s not explosive at all which means he’s not going to be posterizing people. So, combine that with lack of strength and my fear is that his game will be neutralized. All these latest videos/workouts are of him shooting threes and jumpers. I hope we will have SOMEONE capable of scoring inside and/or rebounding. All those good tournament teams had that kind of player. It’s not all bombs away and taking bad shots.

Skill can be neutralized if a player is 30-50 pounds lighter than the opposing defender. Also, at least in the tapes we've been shown, he doesn't elevate or get above the rim. It looks like he can just barely get above the rim. I've also yet to see him absorb contact from a bigger/stronger player and make the shot (granted we haven't seen much footage). Workout films only show so much. A player can have all the moves in the world, but if they can't go up strong it won't help much. Look at Oshae, and the way he contorts his body to avoid contact. He's not strong enough to absorb it, and still make the shot. Jesse will go as far as his body/strength and conditioning will take him. Lets see what the staff can do. I hope it's more than what they did with Chukwu, Sidibe, Brisset and Dolejaz.

I mean the natural ability is promising. But, like we are saying, he needs to get a lot stronger since his elevation and speed isn’t much.
Hopefully we will be proven wrong but I’m getting tired of these string beans. Give me an Odiase or Okeke. You can have a string bean playing alongside one of those types who are tough/physical guys who give you rebounds, defense, physicality, and some scoring. You can’t just continue to trot out an all string bean frontline!
