This was an absolute embarrassment for our football team. I can forgive the offense to some extent, but WTF happened to our so called “ACC best” defense? I was working so I didn’t watch, thank God. There is no excuse for this game. NONE.

The problem with the defense, is and always has been, is Brian Ward. He's downright horrible and if things don't change soon Dino needs to let him go. As I said before this season is going to depend on how our OL and LB plays this year and so far they haven't been good. Losing Shy Cullen was a HUGE loss on the team. Armstrong isn't doing a great job on making adjustment calls/plays at time plus his tackling hasn't been great. Shy would have excelled this year. I'm not sure what is going on with our secondary either, they were decent last year but they look horrid this year. The OL needs to get it together. Having Heckel out was a huge blow and the RS freshman starting at tackle was getting beat left/right today. He got subbed but don't don't think the OL did a great overall today. Hate to say this but think we get steam rolled again next Saturday night against Clemson which is going to totally sucks since it's a prime time game.

Like I said, I didn’t watch. By the time I got home and turned it on it was already 49-20. I agree that we will get steamrolled by Clemson next weekend. I’m not sure the team will be resilient enough to bounce back after two consecutive embarrassments. I hate to say that next week is pivotal, but I think another loss like today could really damage the psyche of the team and DeVito, as a young QB. I hope they play like the season is on the line and with pride next week.

I was worried at some lack of physicality VS Liberty. Liberty just got tired without depth and some injuries of their own. But, their skill players were carrying our DBs and LBs for rides and YAC everywhere. Well, a much better team did the same. Athletically and physically we were overmatched. Our WRs have looked like JVs two weeks in a row. Ward and the coaches deserve some blame but I did see guys like Armstrong in the right place to make a play but his fundamentals were so poor and he just doesn’t look a like a P5 type player, regardless. OL is a big problem and don’t want to get into that tonight. Our backs looked much slower and less physical than the MD backs. TD I can’t quite get a read on yet. Hopefully we keep it within 5 touchdowns VS Clemson.

The Maryland loss looks even worse now that they lost to Temple.

Syracuse defense looked better than last weekend that is for sure. They seemed like the ran out of gas at the end but our offense couldn't bust a touchdown and really hurt. Me thinks Devito and company will get it together as the season goes on.
