Who would have thought this after last year that this is the product the HC and staff are putting out this year. Ward flat out sucks as DC, have said that for years now. Time for him to go and he can take Cavanaugh with him. He sucks as OL and if we can can kill one of the worst D's in the league then need to find someone who knows what they are doing about pass protecting/blocking. If Lynch doesn't get his crap together as OC also time for him to go. Dino has some serious decisions to make but it's got to be done. The fan base will dwindle back to how it used to be when Robinson was here if it doesn't and recruiting will really suffer.
Hard to believe these guys all got a nice extension/money and do this crap to the team this year. ADJW also needs to step in and say something too.

What a difference a year makes. All the momentum we had after last season was lost. We were supposed to be a top 25 team and a be headed to a potential Orange Bowl. We’re downright AWFUL this season. Not acceptable.

We are horrible. How does this happen? How did we rise and fall so rapidly?

The recruiting is not good. We’ve missed on and have gotten unlucky with the OL. Interior of DLine is a problem. LBs are a BIG problem. Inability to recruit at that position is a huge problem. DeVito obviously has been battered and the OL and well as Lynch perhaps has shattered his confidence. Not sure though if DeVito has it between the ears even with a good line. Our WRs are not ACC caliber. They often can’t win one-on-one battles. We’ll hit a homerun on occasion to Jackson but that’s usually when teams have already blown us out and are lollygagging around or with subs in. Harris, Riley, etc., are too slight and all aren’t physical enough. All go down too easy. Same with the backs. Go down easy. Neal isn’t an ACC caliber back. Adams isn’t that much better. Howard is slow. He looked better last year. A lot of just bad football players like Foster. Making the same mistakes over and over. Often a LB was assigned to spy Dungey. When Dungey would break contain and start to head north, opposing secondaries would have to creep up to help out. That’s not happening this year. Dino is going to have to hit the transfer portals and/or JUCOs hard in the off-season to address some key positions. Maybe find some running QB diamond in the rough to challenge DeVito. In its current state I think the offense really needs a running QB.

Yeah, we need a QB that has some legs. Dungey could keep the defense honest because he was a running threat. He was tough as nails. DeVito is soft. But then again the OL is horrible.

There is a reason Devito has been struggling on and off this year that hasn't been out to the public. I'm not going to release the info but the kid could have just packed it in but is a trooper and wants to play. If his OL wasn't so horrid he would be having a decent year and so would the team overall.

Not sure how potent we would be offensively if the line was decent. Obviously better but not sure our WRs and RBs are good enough collectively to be very dynamic. But, all the quick 3 and outs, turnovers, not sustaining drives really can make it tough on your D (not excusing them or Ward).

Agreed and how Cavanaugh still has a job as our OL coach today is amazing. I would demote Lynch back to OL coach, maybe let Dino call plays the rest of the year while looking for a decent OC.
