Pray Griff gets his waiver.

Some flexibility for sure and at least some depth now. Griffin waiver is paramount. Still, not the quickest or most athletic group of players. Length yes.

Knowing JB our starting lineup wonāt change much:
PG Girard SG Buddy SF Griffen PF Marek C Sidibe
Bench: Quincy, Frank, JBA, Kadary
My starting lineup would be:
PG Girard SG Kadary SF Griffen PF Guerrier C Sidibe with a very short leash
Bench: Buddy, Marek, Woody, Frank, and maybe one of the other big guys

I really hope Newton comes in like gangbusters and is strong enough to hang. Neither Guerrier or Marek are ideal 4s on a Top 25 team. Marek can be pushed around and is a streaky shooter. Good passer. Quincy is a garbage guy who isnāt really a playmaker, canāt shoot, and short for the position.

He can finish strong. If his shot can improve I think he can be more than just a garbage man. Time will tell. Woody is definitely a wildcard though. Iām not sure heās physical enough to play the four until he hits the weight room.

Damone Brown and of course some bigger names. Marek most recently. Woody has SO much more offensive upside than a Marek though. Guerrier too. Weāll see re: Quincy. Heās a little clunky, robotic, definitely not fluid. All I see is a garbage man rebounder which is fine. Thatās the evidence so far. He plays a little below the rim too, IMO. Maybe his groin was an issue. Until I see otherwise, Iām happy with him coming off the bench as a bruiser who will do a little of everything. If he canāt shoot though and be a good ballhandler/driver then heāll clog things up for us.

Letās hope so. Also, about Quincy... he had a much more versatile offensive game in high school. Perhaps the groin was an issue (like you mentioned) or maybe he was just a freshman, who like most under JB, was told to just rebound, defend, and play the role of the garbage man. Wouldnāt be the first time JB has held the reigns back on a frosh. Your assessment certainly could prove right, but Iām hoping some of the offensive skills he showed in high school will be allowed to develop. We didnāt need his shooting last season, but we did need his muscle. Maybe he simply did what he was asked to do? Weāll find out.

I like the kid but Dolezaj is so far down the opposing teamsā scouting report lol.

Heās definitely not a go to guy or someone coaches are going to put their best defender on, but i think he brings a lot to the table with his versatility that a lot of coaches would love to have him (especially as a senior). This is a kid who took a charge from a full-speed Zion Williamson. He is a tone setter and a scrapper. Surely not an NBA prospect but someone who can bring a lot to a college team. I would love to see him sneak a 3rd team all-ACC award this year. I think thatās a realistic ceiling. 10/7/4 is a possible slash line

We did usually have a beefier 5 to throw out there in tandem. You might be right re: Quincy. Admittedly, itās hard for me to get a read on him. I agree he was more offensive minded and multi-dimensional in H.S. He doesnāt look as agile frankly and is much stronger/heavier. He looked like more of a NBA type SG in H.S. Lean but chiseled frame. Now he looks like a shorter PF. Doesnāt look as nimble. Maybe itās the groin as well and maybe he was simply needed to be the physical presence like you said. Or maybe his offensive game has just deteriorated with this huge step up in competition. Weāll see. The team likely wonāt be much more physical so maybe he will be back in the same role š³

A shorter PF at the college level but someone who could really polish himself in the G League and find a home in the NBA with some development. Iām sure he coordinated his surgery with the idea of being ready by training camp in mind. I doubt he stays in the program beyond next season. Iād gladly have him back, but he is already 21 like Oshae was in his soph year. Maybe he gives us a third year so he can showcase himself starting, but I dont expect it. Like Oshae, he lacks the ability to beat ACC level defenders off the bounce as it stands right now. Heās also not a great shooter off the dribble - and a shaky one even wide open with set feet. Oshae really shined with the Raptors G League squad. I could see QG having a similar trajectory - playing the 4 and developing into a 3 as a pro.

It changed the flow of the game entirely. WD-40 guy is def a better phrasing of what i meant when i said ātone setterā
