A large portion of our fans wanted Pitino or Cooley. Red has us with a better record than both and a better win than either of them have. People are dumb. People who claim DEI eat their boogers for breakfast. If you wanted someone else it’s fine, but the DEI stuff is way out of line. Real smoothbrain take imo

I gotta add another zone point. 100% zone was a problem as we talked about.
As was really slow, really short, and really short and slow guards in the zone.
Mintz when he’s trying hard and Starling, and Copeland….those guys can actually effectively contest shots, and cut off penetration(Buddy was the worst I’ve ever seen at that, he was just too slow) - get big enough guards who can move, and people don’t bitch when you zone teams that you can’t matchup with in man to man.

You nailed. The zone 100% was the issue. We could switch between zone and man to man but that would have required actually doing something in practice. We didn’t practice offense so it meant we just practiced the zone all the time. Autry wasn’t my pick to replace Boeheim because I wanted a clean break but once he was hired I was fine with him. He hired an outsider and has gotten our best recruit since Chris McCollough. This nonconference was legit and we only came out of it with 2 losses. I didn’t expect tournament because this was still a JB roster. I can’t wait for the future as I want to be relevant again.

I would be quite excited for next year if we can retain Brown, Starling, and Copeland as the returning core. All of those guys have gotten quite a bit better and I think project well as upperclassman. I am warming to the idea of Bell being a part of that too, if he can finish strong. A healthy Westry would be major too. I think we have a chance to be legit good next year. A core of Juniors that are getting better would be promising.
