Twitter Tuesday from Corey Evans of Rivals -
Someone was asking about Kentucky's prospects for upcoming year and Stewart got mentioned in 3rd paragraph below-
That's the million-dollar question in Lexington, isn’t it? This has been some sort of recruiting cycle already where we have seen Duke miss on a few of its top backcourt targets and Kentucky has done just the same in the frontcourt.
Just this past weekend, Oscar Tshiebwe picked West Virginia over Kentucky. That leaves Carey, Isaiah Stewart, James Wiseman and Jaden McDaniels firmly on the Wildcats' board. Of the group, none are strong leans toward Kentucky, a rather perplexing thought for the typically dominant Wildcats on the recruiting trail.
Could the program swing and miss on all of them? Crazy as it sounds but yes. Michigan State and Duke seem to be more likely for Carey; Michigan State, Duke and Washington seem to be more likely for Stewart; Memphis is the primary hurdle to overcome for Wiseman; McDaniels, though the Wildcats are in his final five and yet to have even offered, might be hard to pluck off of the West Coast as San Diego State and Washington have gained most of the talk.
There has been whispers that Kentucky has expressed interest in five-star forward C.J. Walker and it would not surprise me to see the Wildcats get involved with Kofi Cockburn

Contenders: Duke, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan State, Syracuse, Villanova and Washington.
Early or late: Early.
Breakdown: Stewart has really seemed to be all over the board during the process. He had a final six, added Kentucky to it and visited. Took an unannounced visit to Syracuse and has also seen Washington and Michigan State officially. Duke should get an official as well but as of today the prevailing thought is that Michigan State and Washington may have created a little bit of distance from the pack, though Kentucky and the Blue Devils should never be discounted.

I love how anyone from rivals discounts Syracuse in every single thing.

Do you think washington gets at least one of jaden mcdaniels or isaiah stewart
9:45 AM - Nov 4, 2018
Yes, I would be surprised if the Huskies don't get at least one of Isaiah Stewart and Jaden McDaniels. I'll take it a step further and say that I would be more surprised if Washington struck out on both than I would if both ended up inking with the Huskies.
Stewart will likely close out his official visits with a trip to Duke in the coming weeks. I don't expect him to sign early, but I do think we will see him make a commitment in the next few weeks. Duke, Michigan State and Kentucky have gained most of the talk, but Stewart is of a different mold. He has his greatest relationship with Washington’s Mike Hopkins, has never been afraid to go against the grain and appears to like the idea of starting something anew. Believe it or not, Washington would be my pick for Stewart.

If I was Isaiah Stewart's advisor, this is what I'd tell him:
Syracuse offers a HOF coach, the best conference, a chance to be a hometown hero and play with friends. SU puts many players in the NBA. Your father will be able to see many games. You can have a Carmelo like impact on the program. Syracuse has crappy weather.
Michigan St offers a good coach in a good conference. You can go away without the hometown pressures of being a local hero/savior. MSU places guys in the NBA too. You will have equally crappy weather. You will lose out on the chance to play with friends and have family at games.
Duke, on the other hand, can offer everything we can except the ability to play with friends and proximity to family. They have a HOF coach, play in the same conference, and put more guys in the NBA. The weather is markedly better in NC too. The same case can be made for Kentucky, though the ACC is better than the SEC.
Washington is an interesting option. You have a longstanding relationship with Hop, and Washington is a program that is trending upwards. You'd undoubtedly be the man out there, and have the chance to take Washington places it's never been before. You'd lose out on the ability to play with friends and you'd be a very long way from home.
At the end of the day, if I was advising Isaiah, I'd remind him that he will make the NBA regardless of which school he chooses. I'd tell him to make his decision based on what he thinks will make him the HAPPIEST. If he truly loves any school, go there. But don't go choose a school because you think you need the name on the front of your jersey to make the NBA. Remember that ties with family and friends are important.
*At the end of the day, if I was Isaiah i would choose Syracuse or Washington. Barring a freak injury he'll be in the NBA. So no need for the Duke or Kentucky name brands. I don't think MSU offers him anything that SU can't. But........ I'm not Isaiah, nor am I his advisor so my opinion means nothing.

Early Signing? No
Primary contenders? Duke, Michigan State, Washington
Maybe the most intriguing recruitment this fall, it is a total guessing game with Stewart. What we know is that wherever he does go, that respective program should enroll arguably the most college-ready big man from the 2019 class.
Could he go the blueblood route and choose Duke or Kentucky? What about staying local, whether it is near his home base at Syracuse or located closer to his La Lumiere School abode with Michigan State? How about going totally against the grain and selecting the furthest thing from each and calling Washington as his landing spot? Do not bet against the Huskies as Stewart’s relationship with Mike Hopkins is rock-solid and he has never been shy about doing things his own way.
Expect a college commitment in the coming weeks, though an early signing is not in the cards.
