For what it's worth the only Syracuse player I saw comment on Jesse's Instagram commitment was Jalen Carey. I will take that as a positive sign that he's staying at Syracuse?

Really hope he turns it around this year, if not he'll be transfer-city after next season.

I may be in the minority but I donβt see Carey as some super fast/lightning quick player as some on the other board say. I mean heβs faster than Frank (who isnβt) but he isnβt in the same league as Coby White getting down the floor or those Auburn guards. Carey is another long-strider somewhat. GMac made a ridiculous comment preseason in a video somewhere. He said Carey was one of the fastest players in the country coast to coast. Please, lol.

We really need an enforcer/banger type to go along with these project and thin bigs. A guy with a βmotorβ which SU players never seem to have along with being very finesse.
I read somewhere that JBA likes to shoot jumpers and who knows if any of them will have the strength and desire to be effective inside in any capacity. Watch Odiase on TTech. A guy like him. A 6β9 250 beast. Even went for 15/14 against Nick Perkins/Buffalo. You canβt push him around and Owens blocks the shots.

He's similar to Owens in build, long and wiry. But, as you point out Tech has Odiase to add beef. JBA and Edwards seem to project to be very similar type guys. I still wish we had someone physical though. Heck it doesn't even have to be a center... but a guy like Draymond Green who can hold his own rebounding and can defend multiple positions. We just have NO muscle at all. I have not done the research, but I wouldn't doubt if I took the 8 players on each ACC team that played the most minutes, and took weights of all those players, that Syracuse might come out as one of the most slender. Maybe I'll compile some data sometime when I have the time/energy. Anyhow, Jesse may very well be a hidden gem. I sure don't know enough about him to say he won't be. But I don't think he's the elite BIG we needed to compliment a finesse guy like JBA. Time will tell.

2 4 7 has finally ranked Jesse... How they calculated the ranking with so little to go by, I'm not exactly sure. For what it's worth they list him as #366 in the 2019 class, and the #65th ranked center. On paper, Jesse's commitment dropped Syracuse's class ranking from fourth to sixth in the ACC, and from 24th to 28th nationally. 247sports.com/college/syracuse/Season/2019-Basketball/Commits/

I like his ball handling ability for a guy that tall. His game is more like that of a stretch 4 than a center. Definitely has a unique skill set for a guy his size, especially his footwork and spin move. I hope he is more ambitious in the weight room than many of our current players.

got a pretty sweet looking stroke for a big. if he can get to like 230, look out Jesse will go as far as his body/strength and conditioning take him. If the staff can bulk him up, something they've failed to do with Dolejaz, Chukwu, Oshae, and Sidibe he might be a great addition. Unfortunately, unless we've hired someone new, our strength and conditioning program has been nonexistent in recent years.
