I don't care if it's pure speculation - or just fun guesses.
Consider it a thought exercise - justify his PT for me!
I can't wrap my head around it. My GF asked about his run in the second half, and if she's asking, it's obviously bad news as she tends to focus primarily on who is wearing the most colorful sneakers.
Outside of these totally dominant 4 minutes against WF (our worst game in awhile....) his average stat line over 40 minutes has to be hovering around 0 points, 0 rebounds, 0 assists in 2024 thus far.

I viewed JT as a placeholder if Williams ever got his act together. When it was clear Williams was never going to figure it out, I thought Red was maintaining the status quo because Williams would have responded poorly to a Copeland promotion. Now there’s no excuse. Copeland should start. And if that’s a problem for Mintz and Mama Mintz, they can take their talents to South Bumblefuck.

I'd start Copeland as well, but I don't even care if we "token start" him as long as he's gone first whistle (unless he has another game this year where he absolutely explodes like he did against WF for four points).

My guess is he is the only one who doesn't act like a maniac when things in the game go poorly.

If nothing else to reward Copeland for his passing and hustle At times I kinda see it - I do like him as a four year guy if he sticks around. That being said, I wish he showed a bit better decision making than he has on some of these turnaround jumpers of late!

After a few games of struggling, Taylor heated up again yesterday against Clemon:
19 Minutes 0 Points 2 Rebounds 1 Assist

Taylor transferring will be my first test on how next year will be. If he transfers then it has potential. If he stays it’s gonna be more of the same

I think Taylor’s minutes were a hedge against Benny going rogue. Couldn’t count on Benny, the way he was acting.
And now that Benny’s done and Brown has to play 40 mpg at center with all the centers out injured, Taylor has to play because there’s not much else.
Personally I’d like to see him off the bench though. Copeland should start. Taylor comes in for Bell or Copeland when they need a rest. That would require playing Cuffe when Mintz or Starling need to come out though, and suddenly we’re not playing him at all.

If he stays it’s gonna be more of the same If he stays, it’s gotta be as like a 9th/10th man, just to have a reliable(behavior wise) veteran in the program. And maybe, he gets better and can get in the mix a bit as a senior. I mean, if he really likes it here and is ok with that, fine. But we’ve gotta recruit over him and get better players in here. If he wants to start/play a lot, it’s gotta be elsewhere.

Yeah - I'd rather roll it out with the guys that can get hot and see if we can dictate temp a bit. Copeland/Bell both run a little hot and cold - but I think that's our best chance at stealing some games. Taylor is fine to give people a blow, but he just doesn't do much and at some point he decides to try to shoot a bit. After that we usually see him exit, but the drought has already begun.

In ACC play, he’s averaging 2.8 ppg, 2.9 rpg, shooting .261 from the field and .194 from 3, in 19 minutes per game.
I cannot believe how bad he’s shooting.
I truly think Chaz Owens could do better.

I hate to be on a players side regarding frustration. But I gotta wonder if not giving Copeland even a single start adds to his frustration and willingness to argue

OttoinGrotto OttoinGrotto 2020-21 Iggy Award Winner 3 Point Shooting % 24 minutes ago #1 How come when some guys get criticism for their game it includes a character or personality flaw, and some guys don't have their character or personalities called in to question?
I mean people say Judah doesn't care about the team and winning and is only out for himself and his own numbers (selfish).
And we've read that Quadir cares more about style and how he looks than winning (vanity).
And recently seems like there's a lot of momentum to the idea that Bell is a problem in the locker room (bad apple).
And we all acknowledge that Taylor is having an absolutely abysmal year shooting, but the talk track is that he's a hard worker and good team guy.
Hmm.
Hmm.
What's up with this assumption that some players when they don't play well have character flaws, but it's not due to character flaws when some other players don't play well?
Hmmmm
Hmmm
